Shopify Developer for Ethnic Wear Rental

Job Title: Shopify Developer for Ethnic Wear Rental Store (Booking Calendar Setup) Description: I'm launching a rental e-commerce store for Indian ethnic wear (sarees, lehengas, indo-western dresses) on Shopify. Looking for an experienced Shopify developer/freelancer to set up the store end-to-end. Scope of work: *Set up Shopify store with a rental/booking system (open to app recommendations — e.g. BookThatApp, Product Rentals Pro, FlexCon Rental Booking & Hire, or similar) *Configure per-product, per-day pricing (customers select rental duration between 1–5 days) *Live availability calendar on each product page — dates auto-block once booked, no double-booking *Security deposit field per product (deposit = product value + buffer %) *Clean, mobile-first theme suited for fashion/rental (product photos are large, since we're a visual clothing brand) *Product photos will be provided separately — not part of this scope *Basic checkout flow testing (booking, deposit charge, cancellation flow) Ownership & security requirements (non-negotiable): *Store will be created and owned under my Shopify account from day one — I will not be sharing store owner credentials *Access will be granted via Shopify Collaborator Request with a custom permission role (limited to only the sections needed — no billing or ownership-transfer access) *Two-step authentication is required on the freelancer's account to access the store (Shopify's own requirement for collaborator access) *All apps, subscriptions, and billing will be under my account/card *Any custom code, configuration, or design work becomes my exclusive property upon payment — to be confirmed in writing before work begins *No third-party tools, plugins, or storage of my store/customer data outside Shopify without my explicit written approval *All work delivered and paid through Upwork's milestone/escrow system only — no off-platform payment *Access will be revoked immediately upon project completion — this includes Shopify collaborator access, any app admin logins, and file-sharing access granted during the project,etc *Applicants uncomfortable with these terms should not apply Ideal freelancer: *Proven experience with Shopify rental/booking store setups (please share portfolio examples specifically involving date-based rentals, not just general Shopify builds) *Comfortable working within collaborator-access limits (no pushback on ownership terms above) India-Maharashtra-Nagpur-based or compatible timezone preferred, for easier live calls *Good communication — will need a short call/chat to align before starting Budget *Open to discuss budget once you apply.
