Shopify Expert for App Development

About Us: We are a forward-thinking solutions company building innovative analytics platform that empower businesses with actionable insights. We are tackling data challenges head-on and developing robust reporting solutions to enable strategic growth. We are looking for a Shopify Expert with hands-on experience in building, launching, and maintaining Shopify apps, with a strong ability to extract and work with Shopify data via APIs. What We're Looking For: This is not a general ecommerce role. We need someone who has actually built and launched a Shopify app — not just someone who has used Shopify as a merchant. You should be deeply familiar with Shopify's ecosystem from a developer/technical standpoint and have a proven track record of pulling and working with Shopify store data. Key Responsibilities: Shopify App Development & Launch: Build, deploy, and maintain Shopify apps (public or custom) that integrate with our analytics platform — handling OAuth, webhooks, app extensions, and data syncing end to end. Shopify Data Extraction: Connect to Shopify stores via the Shopify Admin REST API and/or GraphQL API to pull structured data including orders, products, customers, inventory, and marketing metrics. Real-Time & Scheduled Data Sync: Implement reliable data pipelines to ensure timely and accurate data availability for both operational and strategic reporting. Tracking & Attribution: Guide setup of tracking best practices across Shopify storefronts — including pixel events, UTM attribution, and channel performance tracking. Customer Segmentation: Leverage Shopify customer and order data to build segmentation logic for targeted marketing and personalisation use cases. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with our internal teams to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. Must-Have Qualifications: ✅ Proven experience building and launching at least one Shopify app (public on the Shopify App Store or custom private app) — please include links or case studies in your proposal. ✅ Strong hands-on experience with the Shopify Admin API (REST & GraphQL) for data extraction. ✅ Solid understanding of Shopify's data model — orders, line items, customers, products, variants, collections, metafields, etc. ✅ Experience with Shopify OAuth flow, webhooks, and app authentication. ✅ Ability to build reliable data pipelines from Shopify into external platforms or databases. ✅ Strong understanding of ecommerce KPIs and Shopify-specific metrics. Nice to Have: Experience with Shopify's Storefront API or Shopify Hydrogen/Headless setups. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g.,Looker, Power BI, or similar). Experience with WooCommerce or other ecommerce platforms as a secondary skill. Basic knowledge of data warehousing or ETL pipelines.
