Shopify Front-End Developer / Theme Specialist (Long-Term Ecommerce Role)

About Us Booty N Buff is one of Australia's leading sports nutrition retailers, operating both a successful retail store and a rapidly growing Shopify ecommerce business. We're currently building a specialist ecommerce team consisting of: Ecommerce Growth Strategist SEO Specialist PPC Specialist Klaviyo Email & SMS Specialist Directors (Michael, Jonathon & Raquel) We're now looking for an experienced Shopify Front-End Developer / Theme Specialist to work alongside this team and help implement our ecommerce growth roadmap. This is NOT a graphic design role. Our strategy, CRO direction and page recommendations are already being developed. We need someone who can confidently implement these improvements within Shopify. This is initially an ongoing contract position with significant long-term potential as Booty N Buff continues to grow. Your Responsibilities You will work closely alongside our Ecommerce Growth Strategist (Miles) and wider ecommerce team to implement improvements across our Shopify store. Responsibilities include: Editing Shopify theme templates and Online Store 2.0 sections Building and rolling out custom product page templates across multiple products Implementing Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) improvements Improving the mobile shopping experience Building responsive landing pages and custom content sections Editing collection page templates Managing Shopify metafields and dynamic content Working with Shopify app embeds Implementing SEO recommendations supplied by our SEO Specialist Implementing design and CRO recommendations provided by our Ecommerce Growth Strategist Testing every change across desktop and mobile before publication Maintaining our website change log for every live edit Required Skills We're looking for someone with demonstrated experience in: Shopify Online Store 2.0 Shopify Theme Editor Liquid HTML CSS Basic JavaScript Shopify Metafields Responsive Design Mobile-first development Strong QA and attention to detail Nice to Have Experience with: Shopify CRO Landing Page Optimisation AfterSell Judge.me Klaviyo Shopify Search & Discovery Shopify Functions Ecommerce UX Google PageSpeed optimisation The Type of Person We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Communicates exceptionally well Is proactive and takes ownership Can work from written specifications Doesn't require constant supervision Takes pride in producing high-quality work Is comfortable collaborating with multiple ecommerce specialists Is looking for a long-term working relationship rather than one-off projects Important This is not a graphic design role. Graphics, creative direction, copywriting and overall ecommerce strategy will generally be provided. Your role is to accurately implement those recommendations inside Shopify while ensuring the website performs flawlessly across desktop and mobile. Initial Projects Some of your first projects will include: Rolling out a new product page template across multiple products Improving collection page layouts Mobile optimisation Homepage improvements Building new landing page sections Conversion Rate Optimisation improvements Implementing SEO recommendations Supporting new product launches Ongoing Shopify theme improvements Hours Initially, we're looking for approximately 5–10 hours per week on an as-needed basis. As our ecommerce business continues to grow, we expect this role to develop into a long-term ongoing relationship with additional hours available. Selection Process Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a video interview with our Directors and Ecommerce Growth Strategist. We may also ask shortlisted candidates to complete a small paid technical task so we can better understand your Shopify development approach before making a long-term appointment.
