Shopify Migration for Premium Children's Apparel Brand (Fixed-Bid Project)

Summary ABOUT THIS PROJECT We're a premium children's apparel brand currently running on Squarespace, migrating to Shopify. This is a fixed-bid project. If it goes well, there is real potential for ongoing work managing the Shopify store afterward, but the immediate scope below is what we're hiring for right now. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO UNDERSTAND This migration needs to be complete and accurate. No missing products, no missing or dropped orders, no missing content, no broken links, no data errors of any kind. We will review the finished site side by side against the current Squarespace site before final payment, and any discrepancies need to be fixed before the project is considered done. The second most important thing: the final site needs to be something I can edit myself afterward using Shopify's standard admin and theme editor. No heavy custom code, no custom apps, nothing that requires a developer to change a text block, swap an image, or adjust a section. If you build something that looks great but only you can maintain it, that is a failed deliverable for this project, regardless of how good it looks. TWO ACCEPTABLE APPROACHES We are open to either of the following. Tell us in your application which one you are proposing and why. Faithful replica: rebuild our current Squarespace site as closely as possible using a Shopify theme and standard customization, no custom code beyond minor standard snippets. Design upgrade: if you have strong ecommerce design experience, you can propose an improved look and feel rather than a replica, as long as it still meets the editability requirement above and matches a premium, high-end aesthetic. Not flashy or trendy, premium. What we will not accept: an exact-looking copy that depends on custom code we cannot touch ourselves. SCOPE OF WORK Migrate our existing Squarespace store to Shopify, including: Selecting and customizing a Shopify theme (replica or upgrade per above) Rebuilding all pages (home, about, contact, policies, etc.) Migrating all products, variants, images, and descriptions completely and accurately, with zero omissions Migrating all customer and order history completely and accurately, with zero omissions Setting up 301 redirects from old URLs to new ones to preserve SEO Reconnecting Klaviyo for email flows Basic apps/integrations setup (payments, shipping, taxes) Full cross-device and cross-browser QA before handoff A walkthrough showing exactly how to edit each part of the site ourselves afterward WHAT THIS IS NOT This is a defined, bounded project against a written scope, not an open-ended retainer. That said, we are explicitly open to a longer-term Shopify website manager relationship afterward if this project goes well. Treat this as an audition for that, not just a one-off gig. BUDGET Fixed-bid, $1,500 to $5,000 depending on proposed scope and approach. Please quote a fixed price, not hourly. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR Proven experience migrating stores from Squarespace to Shopify specifically, not just building Shopify stores from scratch Either meticulous attention to detail for an exact replica, or genuine ecommerce design skill if proposing an upgrade Comfortable building within Shopify's standard theme editor rather than relying on custom code to hit a look Experience with Klaviyo integration Clear, responsive communication and comfort with a thorough QA/review process before final payment HOW TO APPLY Send examples of past Squarespace-to-Shopify migrations, ideally for apparel or premium/DTC brands.
