Shopify Plus Technical SEO & Catalog Operations Specialist

We run a specialized SEO agency focused exclusively on Shopify and Shopify Plus brands. Most of our clients have 250+ products, so we aren't looking for a typical Shopify developer, we're looking for someone who understands how to organize, optimize, and scale large product catalogs. Our SEO team creates the strategy (keyword research, collection strategy, information architecture, content, and wireframes). We need someone who can execute the technical implementation inside Shopify. This role combines technical SEO, Shopify development, and catalog operations. Responsibilities You'll be responsible for implementing SEO improvements directly within Shopify, including: - Managing large product catalogs (500–100,000+ SKUs) - Creating and managing automated collections - Product taxonomy and organization - Product types, tags, vendors, metafields, and metaobjects - Shopify Search & Discovery configuration - Product filtering and faceted navigation - Collection page implementation - Bulk product updates using CSVs and import/export tools - Shopify theme customization (Liquid) - Technical SEO implementation -- Schema markup -- Canonical tags -- Redirects -- XML sitemaps -- Core Web Vitals improvements - Technical SEO audits using Screaming Frog - Identifying crawl, indexing, and duplicate content issues - Working closely with our SEO strategist to implement technical recommendations Required Skills - Shopify Plus experience - Strong Liquid development experience - Experience working with stores containing thousands of products - Deep understanding of Shopify collections, tags, product types, metafields, and navigation - Experience with Shopify Search & Discovery - Comfortable performing bulk product updates Technical SEO experience - Screaming Frog - Google Search Console - Basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Bonus Points - Matrixify - Mechanic - Shopify Flow - Metaobjects Shopify Functions - Experience with faceted navigation and enterprise eCommerce SEO - Experience optimizing high-SKU Shopify stores To Apply Please include: Links to Shopify stores you've personally worked on (especially large catalogs).
