Shopify Product Listing & Site Maintenance Specialist (Ongoing, Part-Time)

About the Role Fat Fender Garage sells car parts and build components to automotive enthusiasts through our Shopify store. We're looking for a detail-oriented Shopify expert or VA to take on a batch of well-defined, recurring product and site-maintenance tasks so our in-house web/ecommerce manager can stay focused on higher-level SEO, UX, and site rebuild work. This is not a strategy or design role — you'll be working from clear instructions and existing templates. We need someone fast, accurate, and comfortable in the Shopify admin (product editor, apps, basic theme editor) who can turn around batches of work reliably. What You'll Do 1. New Product Listings (recurring, ongoing) Load new dropship/supplier products into Shopify (starting batch: 20+ products) Populate titles, descriptions, images, variants, pricing, and tags following our existing product template Apply on-page SEO basics (meta title/description, alt text, URL handles) using our provided keyword/style guide 2. Product Title & Metadata Cleanup Fix products with titles exceeding Shopify/SEO character limits, following our style guide for shortening without losing clarity Standardize formatting across a batch of existing listings 3. Site Hygiene Identify and fix 404/broken link errors across the site Audit installed Shopify apps, flag unused/redundant ones for removal, document what each app does 4. Shipping Profile Setup Configure shipping profiles for a batch of dropship products (weights, rates, carrier settings) based on data we provide 5. Simple Landing Page Builds (as needed) Build straightforward landing pages from a spec/wireframe we provide (e.g., an inventory listing hub), using existing theme sections — no custom design work What This Role Does NOT Include No site-wide theme changes, structural redesigns, or work on pages tied to our agency's ongoing dev rebuild No SEO strategy, content strategy, or copywriting from scratch — you'll be executing against direction we provide No access to sensitive business/financial data Requirements Proven Shopify experience (admin, product editor; basic theme/Liquid familiarity a plus) Strong attention to detail — this work is repetitive and precision matters Comfortable working from templates/style guides and following instructions closely Good written English for product copy edits Available for consistent, ongoing part-time work (not a one-off gig) Bonus: experience with automotive, industrial, or technical/parts-based ecommerce (SKU-heavy catalogs with variants/fitment data) How We'll Work Together We'll provide a written style guide, product template, and keyword direction for each batch Work will be assigned with a clear deadline and reference materials (no guessing) Weekly check-in or async update on progress Paid trial batch (5–10 products or one 404 cleanup pass) before committing to ongoing work To Apply Please include: Examples of Shopify stores you've built or maintained product catalogs for Your experience with bulk product uploads and SEO metadata Your availability (hours/week) and typical turnaround time for a batch of 10-20 products
