Shopify Product Page QA & Catalog Cleanup Specialist Needed (700 Products)
Worldwide
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented Shopify specialist to complete a quality assurance audit of our Shopify product catalog in the **sauna & cold plunge niche**. Our store contains **approximately 700 products**, and a significant amount of cleanup work has already been completed. **Important:** This is not a project where every product requires changes. A lot of work has already been done, and we expect that only a small number of products may require revisions. We are looking for someone who is extremely detail oriented & efficient. This task shouldn’t take several hours to complete, as mentioned a lot of work has already been done so the amount of products needing fixes should only be a few out of 700. We are looking for someone who can complete this task in an efficient and very timely manner, we don’t have a big timeline at most 2 days to complete. The first step of this project is **not making changes**. Your first responsibility will be to carefully review the product catalog, identify any products that do not meet the requirements outlined below, and document them for review. After I review and approve the affected products, you will proceed with making the necessary changes. We are looking to **hire immediately**, so please only apply if you are available to begin work right away. --- # Project Workflow ## Phase 1: Product Catalog Audit (Required Before Any Changes) Before editing anything inside Shopify: You must first: * Review the approximately 700 products. * Identify only the products that have issues. * Document each affected product. * Provide details on what needs to be corrected. I will review the list of affected products before any changes are made. **Do not make edits without approval.** Because significant work has already been completed, I would not be surprised if the number of products requiring updates is relatively small. The priority is accuracy — identifying the right products that actually need attention rather than making unnecessary changes. --- # Issues To Identify ## 1. Product Option & Variant Accuracy Review product options to identify products where variants do not accurately represent the product being sold. Examples: * Variant says "Gray" while product images clearly show Black. * Incorrect option values. * Incorrect option names. * Product images not matching available selections. Document any products where customers could be confused about what they are purchasing. --- ## 2. Product Variant Accuracy & Customer Clarity Identify products where product images show multiple colors or configurations, but the available selections are unclear. Examples: * Product images show Black and Brown versions. * No clear color selection exists. * Customers may not know which version they are purchasing. Document these products for review. --- ## 3. Duplicate Product Images Review product image galleries and identify products with: * Duplicate images. * Unnecessary repetitive images. * Poorly organized image galleries. Do not remove images until approved. Document the affected products. --- ## 4. Thin Product Descriptions Most of our product descriptions are already well-organized and contain sufficient information. However, some products may have noticeably thin descriptions, especially considering these are high-ticket products. For example, a product priced at **$6,500+** should provide customers with enough information to confidently make a purchasing decision. Your responsibility is to: * Review product descriptions. * Identify products with noticeably limited information. * Flag these products for review. **Do not add or rewrite product descriptions.** Only identify products where descriptions are significantly lacking. Examples of missing information may include: * Product overview * Key features * Materials * Specifications * Dimensions * Included accessories * Important purchasing information --- ## 5. Product Variant Naming Issues Identify products where variant names are unclear, confusing, or combine multiple choices into one option. Examples: Incorrect: * "Black or Brown" Correct: * Separate variant selections for each available option. Flag products where: * Multiple choices are combined into one variant. * Variant names are unclear. * Variant wording may confuse customers. * Variant names do not clearly describe the selection. --- # Change Tracking Requirement All findings must be documented in a **Google Sheet/Google Doc** before any changes are made. For every affected product, include: * Product name * Product URL * Issue identified * Current setup ("Before") * Recommended correction/action * Notes explaining why it requires attention Example: **Product:** Example Product **Issue:** Variant naming issue **Before:** "Black or Brown" **Recommended Action:** Separate into individual color options OR **Product:** Example Product **Issue:** Thin product description **Recommended Action:** Review description and add additional product details After I review and approve the affected product list, we can proceed with making the necessary Shopify updates. --- # Important Project Requirements All work must be completed directly within Shopify. **Do NOT export product data and re-import it.** We do not want any actions that could unintentionally affect: * Product collections * Product tags * Product categories * Product associations * Metafields * Inventory * SEO settings * Other Shopify configurations All approved changes should be completed safely within Shopify Admin. --- # Requirements * Strong Shopify experience * Experience auditing Shopify product catalogs * Experience reviewing product variants and product pages * Excellent attention to detail * Ability to identify inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading product information * Experience with high-ticket eCommerce brands is preferred --- # When Applying, Please Include * Your Shopify experience * Examples of similar Shopify catalog audits or QA projects * Your estimated timeline for completing the initial audit * Approximately how many hours you expect the audit will take * Your availability to start * Confirmation that you understand the first step is **identifying affected products only before making changes** --- # Important Please communicate with me **only through Upwork messaging**. Any attempts to communicate outside of the Upwork platform will be ignored and blocked. We are looking to hire immediately. If this project is completed successfully, there is **strong potential for an ongoing working relationship**, as we regularly add new products to our Shopify store and will continue to need assistance with product quality assurance, catalog management, and ongoing Shopify maintenance.
