# Shopify App Growth Specialist ## About Us We're a Shopify Partner with a validated app product in the early growth phase. We're now building the acquisition engine to scale merchant growth. This isn't about traditional marketing campaigns. We're building automated, AI-driven systems that consistently acquire qualified merchants and strengthen our competitive position through intelligent prospecting, automation, and strategic partnerships. --- ## The Role We're looking for a **Shopify App Growth Specialist** to design and build our merchant acquisition engine from the ground up. You'll be responsible for architecting and executing AI-driven acquisition systems that become a repeatable, scalable asset for the company—not just running campaigns, but building the infrastructure that powers growth. ### What You'll Build - **AI-Driven Prospecting System** — Build AI agents that identify, enrich, and qualify high-intent Shopify merchants for outreach - **Automated Outbound Engine** — Design multi-channel outbound sequences (email, cold outreach, personalization at scale) - **Shopify Agency Partnerships** — Develop strategic partnership programs with Shopify agencies and consultants - **Referral Automation** — Create incentivized referral systems with tracking and reward automation - **Lead Enrichment Pipeline** — Build data enrichment workflows using AI to understand merchant profiles, needs, and intent signals - **CRM & Sales Automation** — Design and implement automated sales workflows that nurture prospects into customers - **Competitive Intelligence** — Build systems that monitor competitor activity and inform positioning - **Scalable Workflows** — Create repeatable, documented acquisition processes that work 24/7 ### Key Responsibilities 1. **Strategy & Architecture** - Design the overall merchant acquisition funnel and channel mix - Define success metrics and KPIs for each acquisition channel - Create a 90-day roadmap for building the growth engine 2. **AI Systems** - Build or configure AI agents for merchant prospecting and lead qualification - Develop prompt engineering and automation workflows - Create intelligent segmentation and personalization logic 3. **Tool Implementation & Integration** - Research, evaluate, and integrate growth tools (CRM, outbound platforms, lead databases, automation tools) - Build API integrations between systems - Set up data pipelines and automation workflows 4. **Execution & Optimization** - Launch initial acquisition campaigns across chosen channels - Monitor performance, iterate, and optimize - Document and refine processes for repeatability and scale 5. **Partnership Development** - Identify and build relationships with Shopify agencies - Create co-marketing opportunities and referral partnerships - Develop partner enablement materials --- ## What We're Looking For ### Core Requirements **Technical AI Background (Non-Negotiable)** - Deep experience building with AI/LLMs, not just using AI tools - Experience with AI agents, automation workflows, and intelligent systems - Strong understanding of prompt engineering and AI-driven decision making - Familiarity with tools like Make/Zapier, n8n, or similar automation platforms - Experience with API integration and data pipeline building **Growth Systems & B2B SaaS Experience** - Proven experience building merchant/customer acquisition systems (not just running ads) - Experience with outbound automation and prospecting at scale - Track record with Shopify apps, SaaS, or B2B software - Understanding of multi-channel acquisition (email, partnerships, referrals, SEO, direct outreach) - Strong data analysis and metric-driven decision making **Strategic Thinking** - Can design repeatable systems, not one-off campaigns - Understands competitive positioning and market dynamics - Ability to prioritize channels by impact and feasibility - Can communicate strategy clearly to non-technical stakeholders ### Nice-to-Have - Direct experience with Shopify app acquisition or Shopify ecosystem - Experience building referral systems and partnership programs - Knowledge of SEO and content strategy for SaaS - Experience with merchant/seller platforms (ecommerce, marketplaces) - Background in lead enrichment and data tools (Hunter.io, RocketReach, etc.) --- ## What Success Looks Like (90 Days) - **Architecture complete**: Growth engine strategy designed, channels prioritized, success metrics defined - **Prospecting system live**: AI-driven merchant identification and enrichment working at scale - **First acquisition channel live**: Initial outbound automation campaign running and generating leads - **Partnership pipeline**: 3-5 Shopify agency relationships initiated - **Baseline metrics**: Clear CAC, conversion rates, and churn data for first cohorts - **Repeatable process**: Growth playbook documented and ready to scale --- ## Technical Stack & Tools You'll Work With - **AI/Automation**: Make, n8n, Zapier, OpenAI API, potentially Claude API for custom agents - **Data & Prospecting**: Hunter.io, RocketReach, LinkedIn Data API, or similar - **CRM/Sales**: Pipedrive, HubSpot, or custom-built solutions - **Analytics**: Google Analytics, custom dashboards, data warehouse - **Shopify**: Shopify Admin API, Shopify app ecosystem --- ## Structure & Compensation This is a **fractional/contract leadership role** with potential to grow. - **Engagement**: 15-20 hours/week initially (can scale) - **Duration**: 90-day sprint with evaluation for continued partnership - **Compensation**: Performance-based, negotiable based on experience and deliverables - Option 1: Monthly retainer + performance bonuses - Option 2: Equity stake + modest retainer - Option 3: Revenue share model once merchant acquisition scales --- This is a **leadership role**, not a task-execution role.
