Short Form Video Editor - Talking Head / Factual Entertainment
Worldwide
TheFeedski is one of the internet's fastest growing viral news and storytelling brand with over 730,000 YouTube subscribers, 800,000 TikTok followers and more than a billion views. We tell extraordinary true stories in bite-sized pieces and we are looking for an editor who can bring those stories to life visually. This is not a generic social media editing job. We need someone who understands the difference between telling a story and filling a timeline. What you will do: Edit story-driven videos that cover real events, real people and real history. Source authentic footage and photography from news archives, documentaries, news broadcasts and legitimate media sources to match the story being told. When original footage does not exist you will find creative ways to visually represent the story without resorting to boring generic b-roll or turning it into a slideshow. You will cut to a pace that holds attention without relying on the cheap tricks of short form content — excessive sound effects, constant jump cuts and gimmicky transitions. What we are looking for: You understand that the footage tells the story. A photo from the actual event will always beat a stock image of something similar. You know how to research and source real archival media and you take that part of the job seriously. You have a strong visual instinct for what makes a cut feel right and you know how to build tension through editing alone. Our audience skews older. They are not watching for flashy edits. They are watching because the story is extraordinary and your job is to make sure the visuals serve the story rather than distract from it. Less is more. Sound design should enhance the mood not announce every cut. Pacing should feel intentional not chaotic. When authentic footage does not exist you are creative enough to find a solution that feels cinematic rather than cheap. That might mean animation, creative use of maps or documents, dramatic recreations using existing footage or photography, or a combination of approaches. Whatever it takes to keep the viewer engaged without compromising the integrity of the story. Bonus points if you: Have a strong personal interest in history, true crime, current events or human interest stories. Can work efficiently and turn around content on a fast news cycle when needed. This is not the right role if your default instinct is to add a whoosh sound effect to every cut, if you think a slideshow of stock photos counts as visual storytelling, or if you have never spent time sourcing real archival footage for a project. If you think you are the right fit send us a sample of your work that best represents your ability to tell a real story visually.
