Title: Short-Form Video Editor for Reels/Shorts (Parenting / Behavioral Health Content) About us EY Behavioral Services is a behavioral health practice in San Diego. We help stressed parents raising kids with big behavior challenges. Most of our content is the founder on camera sharing tools, stories, and frameworks for parents. We are looking for a reliable short-form video editor to turn our long-form videos into engaging clips for Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. ⸻ Role overview This is a video-editing only role. No posting, no community management, no strategy decks. Your job is to: * Cut clean, engaging short-form clips from our long-form videos. * Add on-brand captions and simple hook text. * Remove dead space and filler from some long-form videos. * Lightly test different hooks and simple edit variations to see what keeps parents watching. Most edits are simple: cuts, captions, occasional zooms/punch-ins, and light background music. We rarely use heavy b-roll or complex motion graphics. ⸻ What you’ll do * Take long-form videos (talking-head, interviews, Q&As) and: * Cut out dead space and tangents. * Create multiple 20–90 second clips with a clear hook → body → close. * Add captions that: * Are easy to read on mobile. * Follow our brand style (font, size, colors, emphasis). * Add simple hooks: * Strong on-screen text in the first 1–3 seconds to stop the scroll. * Occasionally test different hook variants on the same clip. * Add basic background music and sound effects when appropriate (nothing overwhelming or off-brand). * For selected long-form videos, deliver: * A cleaned-up long version (dead space removed, captions added if requested). * 3–5 short clips cut from that long-form source. * Track your work in a simple Google Sheet: * Date, clip name, source video, and whether it’s a “standard” edit or an “experiment” (e.g., faster cuts, different caption style, etc.). We will handle posting, analytics, and performance tracking. You just keep the sheet updated and name/tag files consistently. ⸻ What we’re looking for * 1–2+ years of experience editing short-form content (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts). * A portfolio of talking-head / educational content (not just gaming montages or music videos). * Strong English and spelling; you’re comfortable writing and formatting captions. * Proficiency in CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci, or similar. * Comfortable with simple, clean edits (cuts, captions, zooms, light music) – not looking for heavy VFX. * Reliable and able to hit deadlines; you respond quickly and communicate clearly. * Open to feedback and iterative improvement. ⸻ Nice to have * Experience editing content for parenting, psychology, self-help, or education. * Familiarity with hook frameworks and click-through optimization. ⸻ Scope & rate * Ongoing work; starting as part-time / project-based with potential to grow. * We’ll start with a paid test project using one of our existing long-form videos (clean a long-form cut + create several short-form clips). * Please include your rate (hourly or per finished clip) and typical turnaround time. ⸻ How to apply Please send: 1. A short note about your experience with short-form editing. 2. 3–5 links to Reels/Shorts/TikToks you’ve edited that best match this style (talking-head / educational content). 3. Your proposed rate and availability per week. 4. One or two sentences on how you usually decide what makes a strong hook for a short-form clip. ⸻ Next Steps If you’re selected, we’ll start with a paid test project using one of our long-form videos. If that goes well for both of us, we’ll discuss ongoing work on a per-project basis.
