Short-Term Engagement: PeopleSoft 9.2 & Okta Integration Specialist

Project Overview We have an onsite instance of PeopleSoft 9.2 Financials (FSCM) integrated with an Okta Gateway to handle Single Sign-On (SSO) and authentication. While the authentication flow successfully hands off to PeopleSoft, we are experiencing redirection and routing issues post-login—specifically with configuring the post-auth landing page to load the standard PeopleSoft homepage. We are seeking a PeopleSoft / Okta Integration Expert for a short-term effort to diagnose, configure, and resolve this post-authentication redirection issue. Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot Post-Auth Redirection: Analyze and resolve issues preventing users from landing directly on the standard PeopleSoft home screen post-login. Okta Gateway Configuration Review: Audit current Okta Access Gateway settings, including HTTP header variables, RelayState handling, app attributes, and reverse proxy URL rewrite rules. PeopleSoft Web & Security Audit: Review PeopleSoft WebLogic / Web Profile configurations, signon.html, custom Signon Event Scripts, and token configurations to ensure compatibility with Okta headers. Fix & Test: Implement necessary configuration changes on either the Okta Gateway or PeopleSoft Web/App servers to enforce the correct target URL landing page. Knowledge Transfer: Provide brief documentation outlining the root cause and the specific resolution steps implemented. Required Skills & Qualifications PeopleSoft Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of PeopleSoft 9.2 (FSCM) running on recent PeopleTools (8.58+). Hands-on experience with WebLogic, Web Profiles, Custom Signon Scripts, and Single Sign-On Architecture. Okta Access Gateway (OAG): Direct experience configuring and troubleshooting Okta Access Gateway for header-based authentication with legacy/onsite enterprise applications. Web Security & Protocols: Expert-level understanding of SAML 2.0, HTTP request headers, cookie handling, reverse proxies, and URL redirection logic. Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to analyze browser network traces (Developer Tools, Fiddler), WebLogic logs, and Okta Gateway access logs to identify routing drops. Preferred Deliverables Root-Cause Assessment: Brief summary of why the default homepage redirect is failing. System Resolution: Successfully configured landing page redirection following Okta authentication. Hand-Off Documentation: Quick summary of configuration changes made in Okta OAG and PeopleSoft Web Profiles.
