Siemens PCS 7 / WinCC to Excel Read-Only Connector Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Siemens SIMATIC PCS 7 / WinCC integration engineer for a short project to build a read-only connector from an existing Siemens PCS 7 environment to an existing Excel MIS workbook. Confirmed plant system: Siemens SIMATIC PCS 7 PCS 7 Version 9.1 Siemens CPU 410 Target: Existing Microsoft Excel Power Plant MIS workbook The plant already uses PCS 7/WinCC for monitoring and control. We do not require any modification to plant-control logic and the connector must not write values or commands back to the DCS. Project objective Automatically extract selected process/MIS values from PCS 7/WinCC and populate only the approved input fields of the existing Excel workbook while preserving all existing formulas, formatting, calculations and dashboard logic. The freelancer should first review the actual PCS 7/WinCC architecture and recommend the safest supported read-only extraction method. Possible methods may include: OPC UA / OPC DA OpenPCS 7 Process Historian / WinCC archives Siemens-supported OLE DB / database access Scheduled structured CSV/XLSX export Another Siemens-supported read-only method Expected scope Review PCS 7 / WinCC data-access options Identify and map approximately 50–100 required tags/parameters Map DCS values to approved Excel cells Handle timestamps and reporting periods correctly Handle cumulative totalizers, including reset/rollover conditions Handle missing or invalid values Prevent duplicate processing Implement error logging and retry/recovery logic Preserve existing workbook formulas and dashboard Test automated values against existing historical MIS reports Provide complete source code and technical documentation The connector should preferably use configurable tag-to-Excel mapping, so additional PCS 7 tags can be added later without rebuilding the entire connector. Required experience Hands-on experience with: Siemens PCS 7, preferably V9.x WinCC OPC UA / OPC DA and industrial data integration Process Historian / WinCC archive access External reporting, Excel, SQL or MES integration Industrial networking and OT environments FAT/SAT or live-plant commissioning Experience with CPU 410 / S7-410 systems is strongly preferred. Important This is not a general PLC programming job. We specifically need someone who has personally worked on PCS 7 / WinCC external data extraction or integration.
