Simple Line-Style Map Illustrator Needed for Travel Guide (4 Related Maps)
Worldwide
PROJECT OVERVIEW I'm publishing a Yellowstone National Park travel guide (paperback, 6x9 inch trim, approximately 179 pages) through Amazon KDP. The book currently has no maps, and I need a small set of clean, simple, black-and-white/line-style maps added - not full-color illustrated art, just clear schematic maps for wayfinding. SCOPE: 1 BASE MAP + 3 LABELED VARIANTS All four maps share the same underlying geography, so this should be priced and built as one base map with three label variations, not four separate maps from scratch. 1) Base/overview map - park boundary, the Grand Loop Road, and the five entrances (West, North, Northeast, East, South) labeled. 2) Major attractions variant - same base map, with Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic Spring, Mammoth Hot Springs, Canyon/Lower Falls, and other headline sites pinned and labeled. 3) Hidden gems variant - same base map, with a different set of lesser-known locations pinned instead. 4) Wildlife-watching variant - same base map, with Lamar Valley, Hayden Valley, Mammoth, and other key wildlife-viewing areas pinned. STYLE REFERENCE Simple, clean, line-drawing style - schematic/informational, not photorealistic or richly illustrated. Black lines on white background (or very minimal color accents), clear labels, no dense topographic detail or elevation shading needed. TECHNICAL SPECS - Page size: 6 x 9 inches. Please design within a safe area of approximately 4.58 x 7.6 inches to account for margins and binding gutter. - Final delivery: vector file (AI, EPS, or SVG) preferred; if raster, minimum 300 DPI at final print size. - Color mode: grayscale or black & white (interior is not full-color printed). REFERENCE MATERIALS I WILL PROVIDE - Confirmed list of entrance names/locations, attraction names, and wildlife-viewing locations to include on each variant - General shape reference for the park boundary and Grand Loop Road PROCESS / MILESTONES 1. Rough sketch of the base map for approval 2. Revisions to base map (up to 2 rounds) 3. Final base map + 3 labeled variants delivered 4. One round of label/placement revisions on the variants WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR IN APPLICANTS - Please share specific examples of map or location-based illustration you've done before (not just general illustration work) - this is the most important thing I'm screening for. - Confirm you can deliver print-ready files (vector or 300+ DPI) sized to the safe area above. - Let me know your estimated turnaround time for this scope.
