Social Media Assistant for Educational Nonprofit (3–5 hours/week)

The Cider Institute is a small nonprofit educational organization serving the global cider industry through professional training courses, publications, certification programs, and educational resources. We are seeking a dependable Social Media Assistant to help maintain a consistent and professional social media presence. This is a long-term, part-time role focused on execution rather than strategy. We already have a marketing plan, established messaging, and content resources. We are looking for someone who can help implement and maintain our social media activities on a weekly basis. Responsibilities - Schedule and publish 3–4 posts per week - Repurpose content from newsletters, courses, publications, events, and existing materials - Create simple graphics using Canva templates - Monitor comments and messages and flag items requiring staff attention - Follow relevant industry organizations, alumni, and partners - Engage with the community through comments and interactions - Maintain a consistent posting schedule and brand voice - Provide a brief monthly summary of activity and engagement Platforms - Instagram - Facebook - LinkedIn - YouTube Who We're Looking For - Strong written English - Experience managing social media accounts for organizations, nonprofits, educational programs, or small businesses - Organized, reliable, and responsive - Comfortable following an established voice and style guide - Able to work independently with minimal supervision Important: This is not a social media manager or marketing strategist role. We are not looking for someone to redesign our brand, develop a new strategy, or act as an influencer. We are looking for someone who can consistently execute an existing marketing plan and help maintain an active professional presence online. Authenticity is important to us. AI-generated images are not permitted. AI-assisted writing may be used for drafting purposes, but all content must be reviewed, edited, and written in a natural human voice appropriate for a professional educational organization. Preferred Experience - Canva - Meta Business Suite - LinkedIn - YouTube - Educational nonprofits - Food & beverage, agriculture, or related industries Hours: Approximately 3–5 hours per week with flexibility in scheduling.
