Contract Social Media Content Creator Fertility and Family-Building Content I’m looking for an experienced, thoughtful social media content creator to support content production for two organizations in the fertility and family-building space. One organization is a fertility company representing multiple clinic brands. The other is a nonprofit providing education, advocacy, resources, and support to people navigating different paths to parenthood. You’ll work directly from my content calendars, briefs, source materials, and creative direction. You will not be responsible for developing the overall strategy or coming up with post topics. Your role will be to take the direction provided and turn it into polished reels, graphics, and captions that feel engaging, compassionate, and aligned with each organization’s brand voice. Content Note / Trigger Warning This work regularly includes sensitive subjects such as infertility, pregnancy loss, miscarriage, unsuccessful treatment, grief, reproductive trauma, and other difficult family-building experiences. Applicants should consider whether working closely with these topics would be emotionally sustainable for them. Our content must also be inclusive and affirming of LGBTQ+ individuals and families, donor-conceived families, surrogacy, solo parenthood, and the many different ways people build their families. Being genuinely LGBTQ+ affirming is a firm requirement for this role. What You’ll Be Creating Content will include a mix of: Short-form video and reels Podcast clips and promotional content Static social media graphics Carousels and educational posts Testimonial and patient-story content Captions written in each organization’s established brand voice Timely posts based on client requests, awareness dates, news, or organizational updates Most content is created approximately one month in advance. However, client requests and weekly podcast content will sometimes need to be added to the production schedule. Any added content will remain within the agreed-upon monthly scope. Estimated Monthly Scope The workload is currently expected to include: Approximately 24 to 30 posts per month for one organization, including reels, graphics, images, podcast content, and captions Up to 100 posts per month across multiple fertility clinic brands, using individual brand guidelines, client-provided requests, and established content plans Approximately 80 hours of work per month, depending on the final mix of reels, graphics, captions, and revisions Some content will be created from existing templates and provided materials, while other pieces will require more customized design or video editing. Responsibilities Create engaging, polished reels from provided footage, interviews, podcast recordings, B-roll, and other source materials Add on-screen text, captions, transitions, music, and other elements appropriate for each brand Design static graphics and carousels that follow each organization’s visual identity Write warm, natural captions that sound human and remain consistent with each brand’s voice Use inclusive, compassionate, and medically sensitive language Adapt content for different fertility clinics without allowing the brands to feel interchangeable Follow provided content briefs, calendars, templates, and creative direction Incorporate incoming client requests into your production schedule Proofread and quality-check all content before submitting it Flag unclear, potentially insensitive, or medically questionable language rather than making assumptions Complete revisions and respond to feedback within agreed-upon timelines Keep projects and files organized within our shared workflow What I’m Looking For The right person will have: A strong portfolio showing reels, social media graphics, carousels, and caption writing Experience editing short-form video using CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or a similar platform Strong Canva skills or experience with comparable design software An excellent understanding of brand voice and the ability to write for multiple brands The ability to manage a high volume of content without sacrificing quality or attention to detail A compassionate, thoughtful approach to sensitive subject matter A clear understanding of inclusive language and LGBTQ+ family-building experiences Strong communication, organization, and deadline-management skills The ability to take direction while also making good creative decisions during production Availability to accommodate occasional timely requests during U.S. Eastern Time business hours Experience creating content for fertility, healthcare, mental health, nonprofits, advocacy organizations, or other sensitive topics is strongly preferred. Compensation and Time Commitment This is an ongoing contract position with an estimated commitment of approximately 80 hours per month. Compensation is equivalent to $35 to $40 per hour, depending on experience, with an estimated monthly budget of $2,800 to $3,200. Payment will be structured as an agreed-upon weekly retainer. The workload and retainer will be reviewed after the initial onboarding period to ensure the hours, deliverables, and compensation remain appropriately aligned.
