The tagline is simple — crazy stories in bite-sized pieces. We find the most extraordinary true stories on the internet and turn them into content that stops people mid-scroll. We are looking for: Someone who is obsessed with the internet. Not someone who uses it. Someone who lives in it. Someone who wakes up and immediately knows what is trending, what went viral overnight and what story everyone is going to be talking about by noon. Someone who can look at a news headline and instantly see the angle nobody else is taking. What you will do: Find extraordinary stories across every category — outrage, survival, mind-blowing, heartwarming, funny and current events — before everyone else does. Write image text that makes people stop scrolling and say what. Turn complex stories into punchy, accurate, conversational descriptions that build tension and end with a gut punch. Monitor trending topics and news cycles daily and identify content opportunities in real time. Pitch real story ideas with strong viral potential. What we are looking for: You have an instinct for what makes people stop scrolling that cannot be taught. You can look at a boring headline and find the extraordinary angle buried inside it. You write the way people talk not the way journalists write. You fact-check before you write anything because accuracy is non-negotiable. You know the difference between a story that is interesting and a story that is shareable and you always chase the latter. You understand that the image text is the most important line you will write for the post and you treat it accordingly. The best stories on this page involve things most people would never believe actually happened - but they do. You need to be able to find the right angle for each one. Bonus points if you: Have experience writing for social media audiences specifically. Understand Facebook and Instagram algorithms and what content performs on each. Have a genuine personal obsession with weird, extraordinary or viral news stories. Can turn around content quickly without sacrificing accuracy. Have basic design skills in Canva or Photoshop and can put a finished image post together yourself. That last one is a nice to have not a dealbreaker. If your copy is extraordinary and your story instincts are elite we can teach you Canva. We cannot teach you to have taste. This is not a traditional media job. We do not write news reports. We tell stories. If your instinct is to write a headline like "Local Man Arrested After Altercation" rather than "He Stole A Lawnmower, Mowed The Victim's Lawn With It, Then Stole It Again" this is probably not the right fit.
