Social Media Creator and Manager for Travel and Tourism Client (Ongoing, NY-Based)

About the role We manages social media for a regional travel and tourism brand in the Northeast, and we are looking for a reliable creator to join our team for the long term. This is not a one-off project. The right person becomes a real part of our team. Collaboration is a big part of how we work. We build the strategy together, and since my team knows the area well, we create the concepts and provide the actual content. What we really want is someone who takes initiative, shares feedback, and helps make the work better, not just someone who posts what we send. We integrate AI into our workflow for strategy and execution, but never to create the content itself. The creative still comes from real people who know the area. A note on who thrives here We have spent years looking for the right person, and we are picky for a good reason. My team and I hold deep, hard-won knowledge about this region and its tourism that you cannot find online or learn from a guide. We are not looking for someone who needs every step spelled out. We are looking for someone sharp enough to ask the right questions, pull that knowledge out of us, and figure out what to do with it. If you are the kind of person who gets better than your client at the thing they hired you for, we want to hear from you. What you will do Bring our content to life across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts Post on a steady weekly schedule so the accounts never go quiet Confirm every caption describes the correct location, the right town, and the right season Keep a Google Business Profile active with posts and photos Reply to comments and messages in a friendly, helpful way Track simple results like reach, saves, and follows, and share what is working Who we are looking for An independent thinker who can self-manage, own their time, and meet every deadline without being chased A great eye and strong attention to detail Real knowledge of tourism and what makes people want to visit and stay Proven experience running social accounts for a brand or business Strong short-form video editing (Reels, TikTok, CapCut) Clear, friendly writing in English Details We are open to two structures: an hourly rate up to $50 per hour for the right person, or a monthly retainer around $2,000 for a defined scope of work, since our monthly content needs are set and predictable. Tell us which you prefer and why. All content runs through us for approval, so you would work directly with our agency team. The goal of every post is to inspire people to visit and book an overnight stay. To apply, please answer these questions: What part of New York State do you live in?
