Full description, ready to paste — your six application questions folded in, neutral passphrase, no brand tagline: We're an independent publisher launching a series of illustrated adventure books for kids ages 8–12. Our first titles publish this fall, and we're looking for a social media manager to run Instagram and Pinterest through launch and beyond. Important: you would not be building a strategy from scratch. We've already invested in a complete content system — a brand voice guide, content pillars, calendar architecture, a library of ready-to-use content and short-form video scripts, full character illustration, and branded Canva templates. We're hiring someone to run that system well, not redesign it. If you're looking to bring your own framework, this isn't the right fit. The one metric that matters: email sign-ups. Reach and engagement are the means; the sign-up is the goal. Every piece of content should ladder up to it. What you'd do - Produce roughly 20 pieces of content per month (short-form video, static posts, carousels) using our existing templates and content library - Write and adapt captions in our established brand voice - Schedule and publish across Instagram and Pinterest - Manage community engagement and respond to comments - Track performance and report monthly against sign-up targets - Work day-to-day alongside our in-house marketing coordinator, who leads this area How we work — please read this part carefully - Weekly editorial review. All content is approved before it publishes. You submit a batch each week; we review and approve. This rhythm is non-negotiable and central to how we operate. - Weekly working session with our marketing coordinator. - Monthly performance report** against sign-up numbers. - Reliability matters to us as much as talent. If you can't consistently make scheduled sessions, please don't apply. Who we're looking for - Demonstrated Instagram and Pinterest experience — ideally with books, kids' products, family brands, or education. Genuine Pinterest fluency matters to us; it's not an afterthought channel in this role. - Someone who executes well within an existing system - A strong written voice: warm, cinematic, never preachy - Comfortable in Canva - U.S.-based, with availability during Pacific business hours A note on AI: our content is human-written. We use AI tools for research and organization, but not to generate the words that go out under our brand. We're looking for someone who works the same way. Terms: 3-month initial engagement with intent to extend based on results. An NDA is required before brand materials are shared. To apply Please begin your proposal with the word 'PINECONE' so we know you read the full description. Then include: 1. Two accounts you have personally managed, along with the measurable results you produced. 2. How you would specifically drive email sign-ups from Instagram and Pinterest. This is the question we care about most. 3. An example of a weekly content-production and approval process you have managed. 4. Your experience working alongside an internal marketing coordinator or content creator. 5. Your proposed monthly rate for this scope. 6. Your availability over the next two weeks, plus confirmation that you can attend a standing weekly meeting during Pacific business hours.
