SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER & VIDEO EDITOR – The FitNest (Ongoing Freelance Role) --- ABOUT THE FITNEST The FitNest is a women's wellness coaching business focused on strength training, nutrition, and sustainable lifestyle change—especially for women navigating perimenopause and major life transitions. We have a community of nearly 1 million followers across social platforms and work with high-quality brand partners (HelloFresh, Dairy Farmers of Ontario, Best Buy Canada, etc.). Our brand voice is authentic, relatable, and conversational—think of talking to a friend, not reading a corporate memo. We're looking for a proactive, organized freelancer to handle day-to-day social media management, video editing, and content ideas. --- SCOPE OF WORK This is an ongoing freelance role, estimated at 10-15 hours per week. Responsibilities include: 1. Social Media Management & Posting - Post to Instagram (Reels, Stories, Feed), TikTok, LinkedIn, and occasionally YouTube - Follow a provided posting calendar and content themes - Ensure consistent branding, tone, and visual style - Respond to community comments and DMs within 24 hours - Track and implement affiliate links for partnerships - Familiar with ShopMy and LTK 2. Video Editing - Edit short-form videos from raw footage (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) - Add captions, effects, and trending audio as appropriate - Maintain consistent color grading and style - Fast turnaround (48 hours typical) - Work with final cuts approved by founder before posting 3. Content Ideas & Strategy - Suggest 3-5 video/post ideas weekly based on trends, audience, and brand fit - Recommend trending audio, formats, and topics - Identify timely opportunities (seasonal, cultural, product-related) - Brief monthly report on what's working and why 4. Analytics & Reporting - Monitor post performance (likes, shares, saves, comments, follower growth) - Monthly summary of top-performing content and recommendations - Track affiliate link clicks and conversions --- IDEAL CANDIDATE You have: - Proven experience managing social media for wellness, fitness, or lifestyle brands (portfolio or case studies required) - Advanced video editing skills (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar) - Deep understanding of Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts algorithms - Experience with affiliate marketing and brand partnerships (you understand FTC disclosure, link tracking, etc.) - Ability to write in an authentic, conversational tone (not overly polished or "corporate") - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple platforms + posting schedules - Responsive communication and ability to work independently - Experience or passion for wellness, fitness, or health content is a major plus --- WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Freelancers who understand short-form video platforms deeply (you know what performs, why, and how to adapt trends) - People who can take direction but also come with proactive ideas - Organized freelancers who can manage a posting calendar and track deliverables - Someone comfortable with the wellness/fitness space and can speak authentically about it - Reliability—we need consistent, on-time posting and responses --- TIMELINE & LOGISTICS - Start date: ASAP - Commitment: Ongoing (minimum 3 months) - Hours: ~10-15 hours per week (flexible scheduling) - Communication: Asynchronous (email, Slack, occasional calls) - Tools we use: Go High Level, Trainerize, Google Drive - Time zone: We're in Ontario, Canada (EST), but remote globally is fine --- RATE & BUDGET $18-25 per hour depending on experience, skills, and portfolio quality. We prefer hourly contractors for this role so we can adjust scope as needed. Can discuss a fixed monthly income if interested. --- HOW TO APPLY Please submit: 1. Our audience responds to real, relatable content—not overly produced or "brand-y" posts. - You'll be working directly with the founder (Zehra, @zallibhai) and occasionally her team. - We do brand partnerships—if this is your first time working with affiliate links or brand deals, we'll guide you, but familiarity is a plus. - This role has growth potential.
