Summary

Join our team as a Social Media Video Editor & Content Manager to create engaging content for Instagram and TikTok. You'll edit videos, manage content, and collaborate with influencers to grow our audience. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for social media trends. About the Project We are looking for a creative short-form video editor and social media content manager to help grow InstaGrill Box across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. InstaGrill is a portable Mediterranean BBQ experience designed for people who want to grill anywhere—beach, backyard, park, camping, road trips, and gatherings. We already have video footage, product content, UGC, and social media assets. We need someone who can turn raw footage into content that gets attention, creates desire, and drives people to purchase. This is not just a video editing job. We want someone who understands social media psychology, viral hooks, trends, storytelling, retention, UGC, and conversion. What You Will Do 1. Short-Form Video Editing Create high-quality content for: TikTok Instagram Reels Facebook Reels YouTube Shorts Edit videos that are: Fast-paced Attention-grabbing Native to the platform Mobile-first Easy to understand without sound Designed to maximize watch time and retention You should know how to use: Strong opening hooks Jump cuts Captions/subtitles Zooms and transitions Sound effects Trending sounds On-screen text Pattern interrupts B-roll Product close-ups Storytelling 2. HOOKS — Extremely Important You must understand that the first 1–3 seconds determine whether someone keeps watching. You will create and test different hooks such as: Curiosity hooks Problem/solution hooks Contrarian hooks “POV” hooks Question hooks Surprise hooks Before/after hooks Product demonstration hooks Lifestyle hooks Emotional hooks Example: Instead of: “Today we're trying InstaGrill Box at the beach.” Create something more like: “Would you actually grill your dinner at the beach?” or: “We brought a BBQ to the beach… and people couldn't believe it.” You should be able to generate multiple hook variations from the same footage. 3. Trend Research Stay up to date with: TikTok trends Instagram trends Viral formats Trending sounds Trending editing styles Viral hooks Meme formats UGC trends Food content trends Local/Orange County trends The goal is not to copy random viral videos. The goal is to identify relevant trends that can be adapted to InstaGrill. 4. AI Video & AI Creative You should be comfortable using AI tools to create and enhance social content. Experience with tools such as: CapCut AI Canva Runway Veo Sora AI voiceovers AI-generated B-roll AI image/video generation AI captioning AI video enhancement You should be able to determine when AI actually improves the content and when it simply makes the video look artificial. 5. Social Media Management Help manage the day-to-day content pipeline for: Instagram TikTok Facebook Responsibilities include: Content scheduling Publishing Writing captions Hashtag selection Identifying trending sounds Creating content calendars Monitoring comments Monitoring engagement Identifying high-performing content Repurposing successful content across platforms 6. Content Strategy You will help develop content around several pillars: Product Show people what InstaGrill is and how it works. Lifestyle Beach, backyard, parks, camping, road trips, gatherings, etc. Entertainment Funny, unexpected, street interviews, challenges, reactions, and trends. Education BBQ tips, grilling tips, Mediterranean food, cooking content. Social Proof Customer videos, testimonials, reactions, UGC, reviews. Conversion Content specifically designed to make people think: “I want to try this.” 7. Analyze Performance You should not simply publish videos and move on. Track: Views Watch time Average watch duration Retention Completion rate Shares Saves Comments Profile visits Website clicks Purchases when attributable Identify: Which hooks work? Which topics work? Which formats work? Which videos generate sales? Which videos should we stop making? Use the data to improve the next batch of content. Expected Output Depending on the agreed workload, we expect approximately: 4–7 short-form videos per week Multiple hook variations when appropriate Platform-specific versions for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook Captions and posting copy Trend research Weekly content recommendations Weekly performance review Continuous testing of new creative concepts Quality is more important than simply producing a large number of videos.
