Software Developer for 3D Data Visualization Prototype (Python / 3D Graphics / UI Integration)

We are looking for an experienced software developer to create a prototype (beta version) of an innovative data visualization tool based on 3D spiral and hierarchical representations of categorical data. The project aims to bring to life a unique graphical concept that visually represents data across multiple levels (e.g., time scales, nested structures, hierarchical datasets) through dynamically rendered spirals. The prototype will serve as the foundation for a full web-based SaaS product in later stages. You will work directly with two project leads, one in software design and logic and the other in business and technical coordination, to translate conceptual, visual, and mathematical models into a functional desktop or web prototype. We are open to different programming languages and frameworks. Based on our current work, we believe Python is a strong candidate, but applicants are encouraged to propose the technology stack they consider most appropriate for implementing the prototype. Responsibilities: • Develop a desktop application or web-based prototype capable of rendering interactive 3D spiral graphics. • Implement core functionalities such as: Interactive rotation, zoom, and selective display of spiral elements; Data import from a structured datasheet or manual entry fields; Focus mode to isolate and analyse specific levels, turns, or categories using auxiliary charts; Ability to toggle between different scales or hierarchical levels; Integration of auxiliary charts (pie, bar and line charts) to show numerical details. • Optimize performance for smooth rendering and responsiveness. • Explore possibilities for real-time updates (e.g., streaming data). • Provide clear documentation of the code and logic structure. Required Skills: • Strong experience with Python (or equivalent) and at least one 3D graphics library. • Familiarity with UI/UX integration frameworks. • Understanding of data visualization principles (charts, graphs, colour mapping, categorical data representation). • Experience optimizing rendering performance for complex or dynamic visuals. • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate on conceptual translation from diagrams to working software. Nice-to-Have Skills: • Experience in scientific or financial data visualization. • Familiarity with AI-assisted code optimization (optional). • Previous work on desktop apps for analytics or modelling. • Knowledge of WebGL, Unity, or Three.js (if the project later expands to web).
