SolidWorks Design Engineer for continuous Mechanical Design, Drawings, & Inspection Documentation)

We are seeking 1 or 2 skilled Mechanical Designers with strong SolidWorks experience to support ongoing internal design, engineering, manufacturing, and equipment-development projects. This is an opportunity for a dependable designer who can execute tasks efficiently, communicate clearly in English, and produce high-quality CAD and documentation with minimal supervision. Projects will primarily involve internal equipment, tooling, fixtures, manufacturing aids, mechanical assemblies, and design documentation. An ideal candidate may be presented with additional opportunities if capable of producing drawings and specifications with GD&T per ISO, ASME, JIS, and other common specifications, as well as perform tolerance stack ups & Analysis, FEA, Motion Dynamics, & other advanced analysis using SolidWorks and other design tools. We are looking for an engineer who understands how products are actually manufactured and assembled—not simply someone who can create CAD models. To confirm you have read this posting carefully, include the phrase "Tolerance stackups prevent surprises." as the first sentence of your proposal. ---- Responsibilities ---- * Create parametric SolidWorks models and assemblies * Develop manufacturing drawings and blueprints * Apply GD&T and dimensional tolerances * Perform tolerance stack-up analysis * Create inspection criteria and inspection documentation * Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) * Review designs for manufacturability and assembly * Revise existing CAD models and drawing packages * Support development of tooling, fixtures, jigs, and internal equipment ----- Required Skills ------ * Fluent English (written and verbal) * own a copy of SolidWorks 2023 or newer (3D Experience Platform users are a plus, please mention if you are currently using it in your proposal) * Mechanical engineering or mechanical design background * Ability to create production-ready drawings * Experience performing tolerance stack-ups * Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability, GD&T, and Design for Inspection ----- Manufacturing Knowledge Required ----- Candidates should have practical design experience with several of the following: * FDM / FFF 3D Printing * SLA 3D Printing * SLS 3D Printing * Vacuum Casting * Urethane Casting * Injection Molding * CNC Machining * Sheet Metal * Mechanical Assembly ----- Preferred Qualifications ----- * CSWP, or CSWE Certification * Engineering Degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred) * Experience creating inspection plans * Experience working with ISO, ASME, JIS, or similar standards * Familiarity with quality control and manufacturing workflows ----- Working Expectations ----- * Respond to messages within 24 hours during active projects * Attend occasional virtual design reviews * Maintain organized CAD files and revision control * Meet agreed-upon deadlines * Communicate risks and questions early ----- Confidentiality & Intellectual Property ----- Selected candidates will be required to operate under and sign a combined agreement covering the following: * Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) * Intellectual Property Assignment Agreement * Non-Solicitation Agreement * AI Usage Restrictions Agreement All work products, drawings, CAD files, and related documentation become the property of Concept. ----- Long-Term Opportunity ----- Our goal is to build long-term relationships with reliable engineers who can become an extension of our team.
