Solidity Engineer, DeFi Capital Pooling Protocol on Base (Audit-Ready, USDC)
Worldwide
We're a venture studio building an investment platform for a client in the US private markets space. The product runs on Base and handles real investor funds in USDC, so we're looking for a senior Solidity/EVM engineer with mainnet, funds-at-risk experience, not a first rodeo. What you'd be building (production phase, ~8-12 week engagement): A capital pooling contract: groups of up to 99 members deposit USDC into a shared vehicle, vote on allocations, and disburse to selected opportunities (on-chain SPV mechanics: deposit, member registry, proposal/vote, disbursement) An escrow contract holding committed capital between approval and funding, with release conditions and refund paths A soft/liquid staking mechanic with defined lock and release rules An early-withdrawal liquidity system: redemption windows plus an LP-style contract providing exit liquidity against illiquid positions (this is the hardest component, weight your proposal accordingly) A soulbound (non-transferable) token reputation system: earning rules, slashing for bad behavior, and a prediction-market-style mechanic (lock USDC on picks, earn reputation on milestones). By design these tokens have no monetary value and must stay that way Governance hooks: voting weight and allocation priority driven by stake and reputation All contract code must be audit-ready. The client has budgeted a five-figure third-party security audit, and your code goes through it. If you haven't written to that bar before, this isn't the right fit. Immediate paid task (1-2 weeks, starts now): Before the build, we need an architecture and estimation pass: review the existing MVP codebase and prototype, pressure-test our contract design specs, and produce component-level effort estimates that feed a fixed-price build plan. This is a paid standalone engagement and our working trial for the full build. Must-haves: Solidity contracts shipped to mainnet that held real user funds (links or addresses, we will verify) At least one project that passed a third-party security audit (name the firm) Deep comfort with ERC-20/USDC flows, access control, upgradeability patterns, and reentrancy/economic attack surfaces Experience on Base or other OP-stack L2s preferred Available 20+ hrs/week starting within 2 weeks, overlap with US Eastern hours for standups Nice-to-haves: Prior work on pooled-investment, syndicate, DAO treasury, or fund-infrastructure protocols Experience designing redemption/liquidity mechanisms Foundry-based test suites with fuzzing/invariant testing To apply, answer these (applications without them are skipped): Link one mainnet contract you wrote that held user funds. What did it do and what was TVL at peak? Which audit firm reviewed your code, and what's one finding they caught that you learned from? Rate yourself 1-10 on each: SBT/reputation contracts, escrow, staking, liquidity/redemption design. Be honest, we route work accordingly. What's your biggest concern about the liquidity/early-withdrawal component as described? Rate expectations: hourly rate, and whether you'd take the build phase fixed-price once scoped.
