Solo Bookkeeper for Shopify DTC Brand — QuickBooks Online — Accrual Bookkeeping

ABOUT THE ROLE I run a growing e-commerce brand on Shopify and I'm looking for one experienced bookkeeper to work with directly, one on one. This is not a project for an agency or a team. I want a real working relationship with the individual who actually does the work. The role has two phases. First, a cleanup of my existing QuickBooks Online file. Then ongoing monthly bookkeeping and management once the books are in good shape. Part of this work is getting our financials clean and lender-ready as we prepare for future business financing. We use accrual accounting, so I need someone who is genuinely fluent in accrual mechanics, not just cash-basis categorization. PHASE 1: CLEANUP - Review and clean up my QuickBooks Online file - Untangle and correct prepaid accounts (prepaid expenses and any deferred items) so they amortize correctly - Verify accrual entries are set up and recurring properly - Reconcile accounts and fix any miscategorizations - Get the Shopify revenue flowing in cleanly through A2X - Review how existing financing is recorded (lines of credit, loans, merchant cash advances) and correct the setup where needed - Get the file lender-ready: clean, accurate financials with a correctly stated balance sheet and properly classified debt PHASE 2: ONGOING MANAGEMENT - Monthly close and reconciliations - Maintain accrual entries, prepaids, and deferrals correctly month to month - Keep A2X to QuickBooks mapping accurate as the business changes - Manage and track financing accounts: lines of credit, term loans, and merchant cash advances, including principal, interest, fees, and payment splits - Produce clean, lender-ready financial statements - Help me understand and plan future cashflow, not just record the past MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE - QuickBooks Online (advanced, not basic categorization) - Accrual accounting, including prepaid and deferred account management - A2X for Shopify revenue reconciliation (this is required, please do not apply without it) - Recording and managing debt instruments: lines of credit, loans, and merchant cash advances - Preparing clean financials for business lending - Cashflow forecasting and forward-looking planning WHO I'M LOOKING FOR - An individual freelancer, not an agency or a team.
