Spain VAT Specialist Needed to Verify VAT Deregistration Status

Job Description We are looking for a Spain-based VAT specialist, accountant, tax advisor, gestor administrativo, or experienced administrative professional who can assist with verifying the status of a VAT (IVA) deregistration request in Spain. The VAT closure documentation has already been submitted, but we need assistance confirming whether the deregistration has been successfully processed and identifying any remaining requirements, if applicable. The ideal candidate should be familiar with Agencia Tributaria (AEAT) procedures and comfortable communicating directly with Spanish government offices. Responsibilities -Review documentation related to a VAT deregistration request -Contact the appropriate Spanish tax authority or government office as needed -Verify the current status of the VAT account -Identify any outstanding requirements or filings -Advise on next steps to complete the process -Assist with preparing any required paperwork or forms -Help complete the process while avoiding a Power of Attorney (POA) where legally possible Qualifications Required -Experience with Spanish VAT (IVA) compliance and deregistration procedures -Familiarity with Agencia Tributaria (AEAT) -Fluent Spanish and professional English communication -Experience communicating with Spanish government agencies -Ability to review tax filings, receipts, and compliance-related documents Preferred -Certified accountant, tax advisor (Asesor Fiscal), Gestor Administrativo, or VAT specialist -Experience assisting foreign-owned businesses operating in Spain -Experience with VAT registration and deregistration procedures (Modelo 036 / 037) -Knowledge of non-resident VAT registrations and business closures Location Requirement Must be based in Spain
