Spanish Social Media Coordinator — Mexican Culture — Premium Home & Design Brand -Part-Time, Ongoing
Worldwide
Job Description Project Overview We're a 44-year-old family-owned premium ceiling fan and lighting business in Southern California, growing our presence with Spanish-speaking audiences across SoCal and Mexico. We run two Spanish-language websites and want a coordinator to bring our social media to life — someone who understands Mexican culture, writes naturally in Spanish, and can own our Instagram and Facebook (and eventually Pinterest) end to end. We already have a Hootsuite account and a large library of product photography and video content to work from — so this role is about curating, editing, and shaping great material into a consistent feed, not shooting everything from scratch. What we need is the person to run it: plan, create, schedule, engage, and report. This is a part-time, ongoing relationship, not a one-off project — around 5–7 hours a week. We work with AI tools daily, so you must be genuinely effective with AI — using it to draft, ideate, edit video and images, plan content, and move faster, while keeping a sharp human eye so nothing reads or looks like generic AI output. The best candidate treats AI as a force multiplier, not a crutch. What You'll Do You'll be our go-to person for social, handling the whole cycle: Create and write posts — plan what to post, write Spanish captions that feel native (never translated), and build on-brand posts by curating from our large image and video library (and adding simple graphics where needed) Edit short-form video — turn our existing video content into Reels and short clips for Instagram and Facebook Schedule and coordinate — run our Hootsuite queue, keep a consistent calendar full, and coordinate timing around promotions, seasons, and new products Community management — reply to comments and DMs in Spanish, engage with followers, and monitor mentions so nothing slips through Strategy and reporting — plan a monthly content calendar, track engagement, and tell us in plain terms what's working and what to do more of Platforms Instagram (primary — visual-first, great for premium home and design) Facebook (broad reach with SoCal Hispanic and Mexican audiences) Pinterest (a plus / likely down the road for design inspiration content) Required Native Mexican Spanish (or strong Latin American Spanish) writer — copy must read as native, warm, and premium, never machine-translated Effective, fluent use of AI tools — you use AI to draft copy, edit images and video, brainstorm content, and speed up your workflow, while catching and fixing anything that reads or looks generic Genuine understanding of Mexican culture and what resonates with Mexican and Mexican-American audiences Hands-on experience running social media for a brand or business — you've owned an account, not just posted occasionally Comfortable with Hootsuite (or a similar scheduler you can adapt from quickly) Solid marketing instinct: you know how to make a premium brand look premium, and you can write a caption that earns a click or a visit Reliable, organized, and communicative — we'll trust you to keep the calendar moving without heavy oversight Strong Pluses Experience with home, interior design, lighting, luxury, hospitality, or a related premium/aspirational industry Basic design skills (Canva or similar) for clean, on-brand post graphics Short-form video editing (Reels, TikTok-style clips) — we have plenty of footage to work with Familiarity with both the Mexican market and the cross-border Mexican-American market in Southern California Comfort reading English (our source material and briefs are often in English) Time & Commitment Roughly 5–7 hours per week, ongoing Flexible schedule — what matters is a consistent posting rhythm and responsiveness, not fixed hours We're looking for a long-term partner who can grow with us as we expand content across both sites Budget $20–30 USD per hour, depending on experience. We're also open to a flat monthly retainer for an agreed number of posts and hours per week — whichever structure you prefer. Once we've worked together a bit and know the rhythm, we're happy to lock in whatever's simplest for both of us. To Apply Please share, briefly: Two or three examples of social accounts you've run or posts you've created in Spanish (links or screenshots), with a sentence on your role Your native language background and where you currently live Any experience with home, design, luxury, hospitality, or related premium brands Which tools you use for scheduling, simple graphics, and short-form video editing Which AI tools you use in your work, and one example of how AI helped you produce something better or faster A quick note on how you'd approach reaching Spanish-speaking home and design audiences on Instagram and Facebook A short, thoughtful reply tells us more than a long generic one. About Us We're a family-owned premium showroom business with 44 years in the ceiling fan and lighting world, serving both English- and Spanish-speaking customers in Southern California and a growing audience in Mexico. We move quickly, pay fairly, and treat freelancers as long-term partners rather than one-off vendors. The right person could grow into an ongoing role across social, content, and more as the business expands. We look forward to hearing from you.
