Squarespace developer to build pages from responsive HTML mockups (ongoing work)

I run an SEO and web development consultancy serving therapy and healthcare private practices. I design responsive HTML mockups; I need a developer who can translate them into Squarespace 7.1 pages that look and behave like the mockup. HOW WE'LL WORK - I give you a complete, responsive HTML/CSS mockup for each page. - I share a Squarespace trial site (a duplicate of the production site) where you build. You never touch production; I handle migration to the live site. - Maintainability matters as much as fidelity. These pages get edited later by non-developers, so layouts built entirely in code blocks or held together with fragile selectors won't work. Your job: rebuild the mockup with native Squarespace elements first, custom code second. Concretely: - Prefer native blocks styled with custom CSS over code blocks. If a text block plus CSS can do it, don't reach for a code block. - Use summary blocks, accordions, and buttons where the design calls for them. - Use proper heading elements. If something needs a heading's look where a heading doesn't belong, style it with CSS instead. - Write robust CSS selectors that won't break easily. - Assign each section a unique ID using the anchor link feature, and target those IDs instead of auto-generated section IDs, so styles can be reused across pages. SCOPE Starting with new pages across 3 existing sites (a few pages each). If this goes well, it becomes ongoing work, including full site builds from complete HTML or Figma-style mockups. MUST-HAVES - Strong Squarespace 7.1 experience with live production sites you can link to (URLs, not screenshots) - Strong HTML and CSS fundamentals, specifically writing robust, maintainable custom CSS for Squarespace: stable selectors, scoping to sections and pages, surviving template quirks NICE-TO-HAVES - JavaScript (code injection, light interactivity) - Astro or similar static-site experience - SEO fundamentals (heading structure, semantic markup, image handling) - Familiarity with Claude Code or other AI-assisted dev tools TO APPLY Answer these three questions in your proposal. Proposals that skip them will be declined. 1. Link 2-3 live Squarespace 7.1 sites you built. For one of them, tell me which parts needed custom code and why. 2. How do you scope custom CSS to a single section or page in Squarespace 7.1? 3. You receive a mockup with a layout Squarespace can't do natively. Walk me through your decision process. The first engagement is a paid test task: one page from a mockup I provide, capped at 6 hours. Ongoing hourly work after that.
