Compensation: $10,000/month # Staff Salesforce Architect ## Job Overview We are seeking a deeply experienced **Staff Salesforce Architect** to lead the architecture of complex, enterprise-scale Salesforce implementations. This is a senior technical leadership role for someone with extensive knowledge of the Salesforce platform, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to design solutions that remain scalable, maintainable, secure, and adaptable as business requirements evolve. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience architecting Salesforce environments across multiple clouds, business units, geographies, and integrated enterprise systems. You must be able to reason beyond individual features or tickets and make sound decisions across data architecture, security, automation, integration, performance, governance, release management, and long-term platform strategy. You will work across the Salesforce product ecosystem—including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Data Cloud, Revenue Cloud, Field Service, Industry Clouds, and Agentforce—and must be able to rapidly develop expertise in products or capabilities that are new to you. Salesforce evolves continuously. Success in this role requires staying current on Salesforce releases, platform limitations, architectural guidance, licensing changes, security practices, new cloud capabilities, and the evolving Salesforce product roadmap. ## Responsibilities * Own the end-to-end technical architecture of large-scale, multi-cloud Salesforce implementations. * Translate complex business requirements into comprehensive solution architectures, technical specifications, data models, integration designs, security models, and implementation plans. * Make architectural decisions based on scalability, maintainability, performance, security, extensibility, total cost of ownership, and long-term business needs. * Design solutions that appropriately balance declarative configuration, Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, platform events, APIs, middleware, and external services. * Establish clear architectural boundaries between Salesforce clouds, external applications, integration platforms, data warehouses, identity providers, and other enterprise systems. * Design Salesforce data architectures involving complex object models, high data volumes, archival strategies, data residency requirements, master-data ownership, deduplication, and cross-system synchronization. * Define integration architectures using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Bulk API, Pub/Sub API, Change Data Capture, Platform Events, external services, middleware, and event-driven patterns. * Evaluate synchronous, asynchronous, batch, event-driven, and near-real-time integration approaches and select the appropriate pattern for each use case. * Develop security and access-control architectures using profiles, permission sets, permission-set groups, roles, sharing rules, restriction rules, territories, identity management, encryption, and audit capabilities. * Design for Salesforce platform limits, transaction boundaries, concurrency, performance, data skew, large data volumes, API consumption, automation conflicts, and failure recovery. * Establish architecture standards for Apex, Flow, Lightning Web Components, integrations, testing, observability, exception handling, documentation, and technical debt management. * Review solution designs and code to ensure implementations follow Salesforce best practices and approved architectural patterns. * Lead architecture across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Data Cloud, Revenue Cloud, Field Service, Industry Clouds, Agentforce, and other Salesforce products as required. * Develop expertise in unfamiliar Salesforce clouds and products quickly enough to guide implementation teams and make informed architectural decisions. * Define deployment, environment, and release-management strategies across development environments, scratch orgs, sandboxes, staging environments, and production organizations. * Establish CI/CD and DevOps practices using Salesforce DX, Git, automated testing, static analysis, packaging, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or comparable tooling. * Design governance models for multi-team and multi-org Salesforce environments, including ownership boundaries, reusable components, dependency management, naming conventions, and release controls. * Identify architectural risks early, document tradeoffs, and clearly communicate recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Partner with business leaders, product managers, administrators, developers, security teams, data teams, and enterprise architects to ensure Salesforce solutions support broader organizational goals. * Mentor architects, developers, and administrators while raising the overall technical quality of the Salesforce organization. * Maintain current knowledge of Salesforce seasonal releases, product announcements, reference architectures, Well-Architected guidance, security advisories, deprecations, platform limits, and emerging capabilities. ## Required Qualifications * Extensive experience architecting complex, enterprise-scale Salesforce implementations. * Deep architectural knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including its execution model, metadata model, multitenant architecture, governor limits, transaction behavior, security model, sharing model, automation framework, integration capabilities, and deployment lifecycle. * Demonstrated experience making and defending architecture decisions involving data models, automation, custom development, integrations, security, performance, scalability, and platform governance. * Strong experience across multiple Salesforce clouds, with the ability and willingness to work across the full Salesforce product ecosystem. * Ability to quickly become technically proficient in Salesforce products or clouds that are new to you. * Deep understanding of Salesforce architectural patterns and anti-patterns, including when to use declarative functionality, custom Apex, Lightning Web Components, middleware, external compute, or third-party applications. * Advanced knowledge of Apex, Flow, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, SOSL, asynchronous processing, platform events, Change Data Capture, Salesforce APIs, and Salesforce security controls. * Experience designing for large data volumes, high transaction volumes, complex sharing models, multi-currency environments, global deployments, and multi-org architectures. * Strong understanding of integration architecture, including API-led connectivity, event-driven architecture, service-oriented architecture, microservices, data synchronization, idempotency, retry strategies, error handling, and system-of-record ownership. * Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise platforms such as ERP systems, data warehouses, identity providers, marketing platforms, financial systems, customer-support platforms, and custom applications. * Strong understanding of public-cloud architecture, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and how Salesforce interacts with external cloud infrastructure and services. * Experience with enterprise identity and access-management standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, single sign-on, certificate-based authentication, and connected apps. * Experience with Salesforce DevOps, source-driven development, version control, automated testing, CI/CD, environment strategy, release governance, and rollback planning. * Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, domain modeling, distributed systems, resilience, observability, security, and technical governance. * Ability to identify hidden dependencies, platform constraints, operational risks, and long-term maintenance implications before implementation begins. * Excellent requirements-discovery and stakeholder-management skills. * Ability to explain sophisticated architectural decisions, tradeoffs, and risks clearly to executives, business stakeholders, administrators, developers, and other architects. * Demonstrated commitment to continuously maintaining and expanding Salesforce expertise as the platform, product portfolio, and recommended architectural practices evolve. ## Preferred Qualifications * Salesforce Certified Technical Architect or active progress toward the credential. * Multiple Salesforce architect-level certifications, such as Application Architect, System Architect, Data Architect, Sharing and Visibility Architect, Integration Architect, Identity and Access Management Architect, Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect, or B2C Solution Architect. * Experience with Salesforce Well-Architected assessments and enterprise architecture review processes. * Experience with Data Cloud, Agentforce, MuleSoft, Revenue Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Field Service, or Salesforce Industry Clouds. * Experience leading architecture for multi-org consolidation, org splitting, major reimplementation, legacy modernization, or global Salesforce transformation programs. * Experience working in highly regulated or security-sensitive environments. * Experience establishing architecture review boards, engineering standards, reusable platform capabilities, and technical governance for multiple Salesforce delivery teams. ## What Success Looks Like * Architectural decisions are made deliberately, documented clearly, and aligned with both immediate requirements and long-term platform strategy. * Salesforce solutions remain scalable and maintainable as usage, data volume, business complexity, and the number of integrated systems increase. * Teams receive clear technical direction before development begins, reducing rework and downstream implementation risk. * New Salesforce products and capabilities are evaluated quickly and incorporated when they provide meaningful business or architectural value. * The organization maintains a modern, secure, well-governed Salesforce ecosystem that takes advantage of the broader Salesforce platform without accumulating unnecessary complexity.
