Staff accounting support - bookkeeping

We are a US-based bookkeeping and fractional CFO firm looking for an experienced bookkeeper or staff accountant to support our growing client base. This will start as hourly work with the potential to transition into a full-time role if it is a good fit. Responsibilities will include: Categorizing bank and credit card transactions Reconciling bank, credit card, payroll, loan, and merchant accounts Preparing monthly close work Reviewing P&L and balance sheet accounts for obvious issues Creating clear client question lists Following internal checklists and processes Requirements: Familiarity with US GAAP Accounting is a MUST YOU MUST be proactive - this is not a sit around and log hours job. Strong QuickBooks Online experience Experience with US-based bookkeeping Strong reconciliation skills Good written English Detail-oriented and comfortable asking questions Able to follow a structured monthly close process Bonus experience: Xero Stripe, Shopify, Gusto, Bill.com, Ramp, Mercury, PayPal Agency, SaaS, e-commerce, or professional services clients Important: No bookkeeping firms or agencies should apply.
