US State Sales Tax Filing Specialist

We're an e-commerce business selling across multiple US states, and we need an experienced sales tax specialist to handle our manual filings accurately and on time, every period. This is an ongoing, part-time role for someone who lives and breathes US state tax compliance. What you'll do Prepare and file sales tax returns manually across multiple US states Track filing frequencies and due dates per state (monthly, quarterly, annual) so nothing is ever late Calculate amounts owed per state from our sales data Manage our state registrations and keep login/portal access organised Monitor economic nexus thresholds and flag when we trigger nexus in a new state Reconcile what we collected vs what's owed, and flag discrepancies Keep clean records of every filing for our accountant and any future audit You must have Proven, hands-on experience filing US sales tax across multiple states (not just one) Strong understanding of economic nexus rules and state-by-state thresholds Experience pulling sales data from Shopify (or similar) for tax reporting Meticulous attention to detail and a track record of never missing a deadline Clear English communication Nice to have Experience with manual filing Background working with e-commerce sellers Familiarity with marketplace facilitator rules To apply Tell us which US states you've personally filed sales tax in.
