Summary

IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL This is a FIXED-PRICE project, not an hourly job. The fixed price is for designing one (1) unique Clockmaker Christmas ornament designs as described below. Please submit your proposal based on completing one ornament designs. Do not submit an hourly rate. Project Overview I am looking for a talented and creative 3D designer to create a collection of Steampunk / Victorian Clockmaker Christmas ornaments for my private home Christmas display, Clockmaker's Christmas. These ornaments will be 3D printed on a Bambu Lab H2D using ASA filament. Each ornament will fit over a standard 3-inch (76mm) Christmas ball ornament and feature a decorative working-style clock face in the front. The goal is to create ornaments that look like they came from a Victorian clockmaker's workshop. Ornament Concept Each ornament will consist of: Upper hemisphere Lower hemisphere Decorative center band Front decorative clock bezel Rear decorative backing The ornament will slip over an existing 3-inch plastic Christmas ornament. The two halves should align accurately and be designed to snap together (preferred) and then be permanently glued after assembly. Glass Dome Feature The front of each ornament will include a 35mm round glass cabochon. I will be using the following glass dome: Eunenete 35mm Round Clear Glass Dome Cabochon The designer should create a decorative bezel that securely captures the glass dome. Preferred Design The bezel should: Allow the glass dome to snap or click into place Hold the dome securely without visible glue Be replaceable if necessary Look like an antique Victorian instrument I'm open to creative solutions if a snap-fit design isn't practical. Clock Face Behind the glass dome will be a printed clock face. The design should include a recessed pocket behind the glass for: Printed clock face artwork Thin cardstock or photo paper insert Easy installation before final assembly The clock face itself is not part of this project. I will create and install the printed artwork. Design Style The bezel surrounding the glass should be highly decorative. Examples include: Victorian filigree Brass gears Escapements Clock mechanisms Rivets Scrollwork Decorative brass castings Antique instrument styling I want visitors to immediately recognize these as Clockmaker ornaments, not standard Christmas ornaments. Ornament Styles Examples: Master Clockmaker Observatory Time Machine Steam Engine Royal Victorian Mechanical Snowflake Industrial Riveted Ornate Gearwork These are only ideas. Creativity is encouraged. Printing Requirements Printer: Bambu Lab H2D Material: ASA Requirements: Designed for FDM printing Minimal supports whenever possible Outdoor durability Appropriate wall thickness Clean assembly Designed with standard printing tolerances Deliverables For each ornament design, please provide: Native CAD file (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape, etc.) STEP (.STEP/.STP) file STL (.STL) file High-quality rendered images Exploded assembly rendering showing: Upper shell Lower shell Decorative center band Glass cabochon Printed clock face location Looking For I'm looking for someone who: Has experience designing for 3D printing Understands snap-fit and press-fit designs Understands FDM printing limitations Enjoys Victorian and Steampunk aesthetics Can create original concepts rather than copying existing designs Communicates well throughout the project Please include examples of previous Steampunk, Victorian, decorative, or product design work with your proposal. Future Work This is one project in a much larger Clockmaker's Christmas display. Successful designers will likely receive additional work designing: Victorian pipe accessories Lanterns Pressure gauges Decorative gears Clockwork mechanisms Wall decorations Outdoor architectural details I prefer building long-term relationships with talented designers. Important I am NOT looking for AI-generated concepts or artwork. I am looking for original, production-ready CAD models that are specifically designed for 3D printing. Bonus: If you have experience designing functional snap-fit components or decorative products that incorporate glass, acrylic, or other inserts, please mention that in your proposal.
