We are currently developing a **Computer Essentials** course and are seeking a contract/freelance **Subject Matter Expert (SME)** to review and validate **225 Pre-Test Assessments** for accuracy, clarity, and learner appropriateness. Course Computer Essentials Role Summary As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will review a bank of 225 pre-test assessment questions to ensure they accurately measure foundational computer knowledge and skills. This is primarily a review and feedback role focused on assessment quality, alignment, and learner suitability rather than content creation. Key Responsibilities * Review 225 pre-test assessment questions and provide clear, actionable feedback on: * Accuracy of computer concepts, terminology, and technical information * Clarity and readability of questions and answer choices * Appropriateness for middle school and high school learners * Alignment with course learning objectives and expected skill levels * Fairness, relevance, and difficulty level of assessment items Evaluate assessments for: * Correctness of answers and distractors * Consistency in terminology and question structure * Absence of ambiguity or bias * Coverage of key Computer Essentials topics Suggest improvements such as: * Clearer wording and instructions * More relevant and current technology examples * Better alignment with learner expectations and industry practices * Enhanced assessment design and question quality Required Qualifications * Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field * Teaching, training, curriculum development, or instructional experience at the middle school or high school level preferred * Strong understanding of: * Basic computer operations and digital literacy * Computer hardware and software fundamentals * Internet, email, and online safety concepts * Productivity tools and common workplace technologies * Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail * Experience reviewing assessments, curriculum, or educational content is preferred * Comfortable reviewing and providing feedback on digital/online learning materials How to Apply Please submit: * Resume * A short cover note highlighting your teaching, training, or subject matter expertise in Computer Essentials, Information Technology, or Digital Literacy * Optional: Sample curriculum review work, assessment review experience, lesson plans, or teaching materials (if available)
