PV System Designer (PVsyst + PVcase) — Utility-Scale Solar, Single-Axis Tracker
Worldwide
Required Software — Please Read: This role requires you to use your own current, active licenses for both PVsyst and PVcase. This is a Client contractual requirement so please do not offer an alternative. PEIS will not be providing the software. Please apply only if you already hold active licenses to both tools; we will confirm license status before award. Project Overview: We are an engineering and execution firm supporting power generation and utility-scale renewable infrastructure clients. We have an active utility-scale ground-mount solar program built on single-axis tracker (SAT) technology, organized into 100 MW PV blocks, with multiple identical blocks planned. The repeating-block design means strong, efficient work on the first block carries directly into the others. This is a focused execution role for a designer who works fast, communicates clearly, and delivers clean, construction-ready documentation. We are ready to move immediately and are prioritizing applicants who can start quickly. Current Scope and Growth Path The current engagement is at the 10% / 30% engineering stage. However, the schedule is tight and the program is real: phased release of work through 60%, 90%, and IFC is very possible. We are looking for a designer who can grow with the work, not just produce a single layout. Because work may extend through IFC, we need a designer who can own the PVsyst workflow end-to-end — running, updating, and reconciling the energy model as the layout matures — alongside the PVcase layout and documentation effort. Scope of Work (10% / 30%) Working in PVsyst and PVcase (integrated with AutoCAD / Civil 3D), you will: -Develop the single-axis tracker layout and array configuration for a 100 MW block from the KMZ boundary and site data. -Run and maintain the PVsyst energy model — including near-shading reconciliation against the as-laid-out tracker geometry as the design develops. -Set tracker row geometry, pitch/GCR, backtracking strategy, string sizing, and setbacks consistent with the energy model. -Produce DC electrical layout: string configuration, combiner placement, homerun routing, and inverter/skid positioning. -Coordinate roadways, access, and equipment-pad layout at the appropriate design level. -Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and quantity takeoffs for modules, trackers, cabling, and major BOS components — critical for long-lead procurement. -Produce plan drawings, layout exports, and marked-up sheets suitable for client review and downstream civil/electrical engineering, progressing through IFC fidelity as phases release. Required Qualifications: -Current, active PVsyst AND PVcase licenses (mandatory — see above). -Demonstrated experience designing utility-scale (100 MW-class) ground-mount, single-axis tracker PV systems in PVcase. -Proficiency in AutoCAD / Civil 3D (PVcase runs on the AutoCAD platform). -Strong command of PVsyst — building, running, and updating energy models, and reconciling near-shading against real tracker geometry. -Solid PV fundamentals: stringing, GCR/pitch, backtracking, DC/AC ratio, tracker geometry, and shading. -Ability to read topographic/survey data and reflect terrain constraints in layout. -US-based, or able to maintain strong overlap with US business hours for responsive coordination on a tight schedule. -Clear written communication and prompt responsiveness. KMZ files are in hand and we are ready to move — prompt, complete responses will be reviewed first. Strong performers will be first in line for the phased work through IFC and for additional identical blocks. Feel free to send clarification questions.
