I am an experienced independent senior paralegal and legal operations consultant currently supporting a government consulting project involving a Virginia municipality. TIME-SENSITIVE: I am looking to identify and engage Virginia counsel no later than Thursday, August 27. Please respond only if you are available to begin promptly. I am seeking a Virginia-licensed attorney in active good standing to join the legal component of the project in a limited advisory and oversight capacity. The underlying project involves legal and operational support related to a Virginia local-government consulting engagement. I will continue performing the substantive paralegal, research, document-development, and legal-operations work within my professional scope. I am looking for Virginia counsel who can provide the attorney-level support necessary when Virginia-specific legal issues or questions arise. The attorney’s anticipated role would primarily include: - Providing appropriate attorney oversight for the legal/paralegal component of the project. - Answering Virginia-specific legal questions as they arise. - Reviewing work product when attorney review is necessary. - Providing guidance on matters requiring the judgment of Virginia counsel. - Being reasonably available for periodic consultation throughout the project. This is not intended to be a transfer of the project or its day-to-day legal operations. The role is expected to be limited and primarily consultative, although the precise level of involvement will depend on the legal issues that arise. Experience in Virginia municipal or local-government law, public-sector employment, government contracting, or related areas would be particularly helpful, but I am open to attorneys with relevant adjacent experience. Qualifications: - Required: Active Virginia law license and good standing with the Virginia State Bar. - Strong knowledge of Virginia law and legal research. - Comfortable collaborating with an experienced independent senior paralegal. - Responsive and available for periodic consultation and review. - Municipal, local-government, public-sector employment, or government-contracting experience preferred. When responding, please briefly provide your primary areas of practice, relevant Virginia government/public-sector experience, immediate availability, and hourly rate or preferred fee arrangement. Priority will be given to qualified Virginia attorneys who are available for an initial conversation and can begin promptly. I am looking for a professional, collaborative relationship and would be happy to discuss the project and anticipated scope in greater detail with qualified candidates. Please do not submit confidential or privileged client information with your application.
