IB TOK (Theory of Knowledge) Online Teacher | 1-on-1 & Small Group Job Overview We are looking for a qualified and experienced IBDP TOK instructor for long-term online teaching collaboration. You will deliver structured academic lessons for IBDP students, including regular curriculum teaching, academic guidance for TOK Essay, and supervision for TOK Exhibition. All classes are delivered online via 1-on-1 sessions or 2–3 student small groups. Responsibilities 1. Deliver systematic IBDP TOK lessons covering DP1 foundational curriculum and DP2 academic assessment preparation. ​ 2. Teach core TOK theoretical frameworks, including Areas of Knowledge (AOK) and Ways of Knowing (WOK). ​ 3. Guide students through the complete TOK Essay writing process, including title analysis, knowledge question development, argument construction, structural organization, and draft revision. ​ 4. Support students in completing their official TOK Exhibition tasks, including theme clarification, object selection, evidence reasoning, and standard-based reflection writing. ​ 5. Incorporate global issues, social topics, geopolitical discussions, and ethical cases in class to foster students’ critical thinking and knowledge inquiry ability. ​ 6. Assign academic tasks, provide constructive feedback, and maintain consistent learning progress records for students. Required Qualifications 1. Academic Background - Degree in social science related disciplines: Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Philosophy, Law, or Comparative Politics. ​ - Master’s degree minimum requirement; PhD holders in social science or political science are preferred. 2. Language Proficiency - Native or bilingual English level for full English academic instruction. ​ - Able to read, interpret, and follow the official IB syllabus and assessment guidelines independently. Teaching Experience（meet at least one requirement） 1. Formal TOK teaching experience at registered IB World Schools (DP stage experience preferred). ​ 2. University-level teaching experience in social science or political science, with experience delivering critical thinking or seminar-based courses. ​ 3. Previous online tutoring experience in IB TOK, with full familiarity with TOK Essay and Exhibition academic supervision procedures. Preferred Background & Certifications（Not Mandatory） 1. Official IB TOK Examiner experience ​ 2. IBO TOK Category 1 / 2 / 3 official training certification ​ 3. Experience supervising social science-related IB Extended Essay (EE) ​ 4. Experience delivering personalized one-on-one online academic instruction Core Teaching Requirements 1. Familiar with the latest official TOK syllabus and assessment criteria. ​ 2. Solid understanding of the evaluation dimensions for both TOK Essay and TOK Exhibition. ​ 3. Able to integrate interdisciplinary and real-world cases to support theoretical learning. ​ 4. Capable of designing structured lessons for both DP1 foundational learning and DP2 assessment-focused learning stages. Technical & Availability Requirements 1. Comfortable with online teaching platforms and screen annotation tools (ClassIn or equivalent). ​ 2. Able to prepare lesson slides, teaching notes, and learning materials independently. ​ 3. Familiarity with ManageBac is considered an advantage (not required). ​ 4. Reliable weekly teaching availability and long-term collaboration willingness. ​ 5. Skilled in guiding student academic discussion and maintaining positive online classroom interaction.
