Table Tennis Analogic Scoreboard Prototype CAD
Worldwide
PROJECT: Modular CAD Design – Table Tennis Scoreboard Prototype (early stage) Objective: Design a modular CAD prototype for a table tennis scoreboard system IMPORTANT: This is an early-stage prototype. Manufacturing approach and suppliers are not yet finalized. The CAD should therefore use a 3-piece modular architecture and avoid permanently integrating components that may later come from different manufacturers. Design goal: Create independent modules with standardized connection interfaces so individual components can be modified later without redesigning the entire product. --- MODULE 1: Scoreboard holder Purpose: Adjustable clap piece that attaches to the table tennis net Requirements: * Use placeholder geometry only * No need to design a detailed mechanism * Include dimensions * The goal is to define connection points with other modules and to help the manufacturer understand what's needed: customization of one of their existing adjustable clap models. Notes: * Geometry should be replaceable without affecting other components --- MODULE 2: Connector Interface Module Purpose: Create a separate connection component between the top holder piece and the scoreboard body (basically a stick that connects the other two parts together) Requirements: * Must be designed as a removable independent part * Easy to redesign later * Attachment methods to consider: * screw connection (preferred since the clap holder manufacturer already uses this mechanism) * slide-lock mechanism * snap-fit connection Key requirement: Changing this component later should not require redesigning the scoreboard body. * The goal is to have a CAD file ready for 3D printing --- MODULE 3: Scoreboard Body Purpose: Main scoreboard structure: serves as a square platform for the scorecards Requirements: Scorecard mechanism: * Flip-card system only * Manual flipping only Structure: * Card spacing must allow smooth rotation * Ensure cards do not collide during movement * Include connection area for Module 2 * Include holes for the rings that hold the scorecards * The goal is to have a CAD file ready for 3D printing --- Prototype Purpose This CAD is intended for: * Initial prototype development * 3D printing of module 2 and 3 * Functional testing * Design validation This CAD is NOT intended yet for: * Injection mold tooling * Final manufacturing optimization --- Deliverables Required * Source CAD files (Fusion 360 preferred or SolidWorks) * STEP (.step) * STL (.stl) * Assembly file * Exploded assembly view * Separate files for each module * Overall dimensions * Connection dimensions/interfaces * Ownership and transfer of design rights * Editable files for future modifications --- Reference materials to be provided: * PowerPoint * Concept images / sketches * Dimensions
