Tax CPA

We're looking for a CPA or tax professional to help calculate and minimize taxes owed on a mixed-income situation for tax year 2026. The Situation: January–April/May: Earned income as a 1099 independent contractor. No estimated quarterly taxes were paid during this period. May/June–Present: Transitioned to W-2 employment. Taxes are being withheld normally. The question is: what is owed on the 1099 portion, and what's the most efficient way to pay as little as possible on it legally? What We Need: Calculate the tax liability on the 1099 income (federal + state) Identify all eligible deductions to reduce that liability (home office, business expenses, SE tax deduction, etc.) Advise on whether to pay estimated taxes now or roll into year-end filing Confirm whether any underpayment penalties apply and how to minimize them Ideal Candidate: CPA or Enrolled Agent Familiar with self-employment tax, estimated payments, and mixed W-2/1099 filings Can move quickly — this is a relatively simple engagement, not a full-year audit Engagement Type: One-time project / hourly
