Technical Content Writer - PCI DSS, eCommerce Security & Payment Pages
Worldwide
We're looking for an experienced technical writer to produce an in-depth article around PCI DSS, payment page security and modern eCommerce threats. Our audience includes eCommerce managers, Heads of Digital, Security teams, DevOps, Compliance teams and engineering leaders responsible for online payment journeys. Some manage their own payment pages, while others use hosted payment providers such as Worldpay, Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com and similar. The challenge is that PCI can be... dry. We're looking for someone who can take technical subjects and turn them into content that people actually want to read. The article should educate without sounding like compliance documentation, whilst remaining technically accurate enough for security professionals. What we're looking for You should have experience writing about topics such as: * PCI DSS v4.0 / v4.0.1 * Payment page security * Digital skimming / Magecart * Client-side JavaScript security * Third-party scripts * Website monitoring * Web security * eCommerce infrastructure * Browser-based attacks You don't need to be a PCI QSA, but you should understand the ecosystem well enough to explain complex concepts without oversimplifying them. Writing style We're not looking for AI-generated articles with generic advice. We want content that: * Has a clear angle that grabs attention. * Uses real-world examples where possible. * Explains why something matters, not just what it is. * Is technically accurate. * Is readable by both technical and commercial audiences. * Doesn't feel like it was written to satisfy Google. Think more engineering blog than marketing brochure. Initial project We're looking to commission one long-form article (around 1,500–2,500 words). Success will be measured by the quality of the content and its organic performance. If it's a good fit, we'd like to build an ongoing relationship and commission further articles covering payment security, PCI DSS, website monitoring and related cybersecurity topics. We'll provide the topic and are happy to collaborate on outlines and technical direction where needed. When applying Feel free to include: * Examples of cybersecurity or technical content you've written. * Any experience with PCI DSS, payment gateways, eCommerce or web security. * A short explanation of how you would make a technical compliance topic engaging for readers. * Whether you use AI as part of your writing process and, if so, how you ensure the final content feels authentic and genuinely written. We're looking for quality over quantity. We'd rather publish one article that becomes a genuine resource than multiple pieces that add little value.
