Technical Curriculum Developer

Summary Mattermost is an open-core, enterprise-grade sovereign collaboration platform serving global enterprises and defense organizations. We are currently developing Expert-level technical certification tracks for our partner and customer community, available at https://certifications.mattermost.com/. We need a contractor who can build hands-on lab content in linux-based sandbox environments, write technically credible assessments, and deliver content that practitioners actually trust. This is NOT a corporate e-learning project. The audience is Kubernetes engineers, SREs, and security architects who will be installing and maintaining Mattermost instances in customer environments The content covers real infrastructure: HA deployments, database migrations, Zero Trust policy enforcement, FIPS 140-3 compliance, and air-gapped networks. Deliverables: Complete and publish five Expert certification tracks in Instruqt + WorkRamp: • Migration Expert: Database and Slack migrations, cutover strategy, validation, rollback hardening (in progress — contractor will pick up and complete) • Platform Extension Expert: Plugin development (server + webapp), integration workflows, upgrade-safe extensions, security and performance implications (in progress — contractor will pick up and complete) • Scaling Expert (target Q4 2026): Kubernetes HA deployments, Redis configuration, disaster recovery and failover, load testing and monitoring, capacity planning • Zero Trust Expert (target Q4 2026): ABAC with CEL expressions, SSO/AD/LDAP sync, IL5/IL6 and FIPS 140-3 requirements, air-gapped and DDIL deployments, mobile security enforcement • Calls Deployment Expert: Mattermost Calls architecture, TURN server deployment, infrastructure scaling, and monitoring for self-hosted voice/video • Custom Mobile Builds Expert: White-labeling and custom functionality for the Mattermost mobile app, custom push proxy deployment, app distribution strategies • Mission Partner Collaboration Expert: Secure multi-organization environments, cross-instance federation, Microsoft hybrid deployments, shared channels vs. guest access, cross-instance identity and trust boundaries, information controls across organizations, translation and cross-language collaboration, Matrix-based federation concepts Required skills • Hands-on experience building technical certification or lab content for a developer/ops audience • Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes, enterprise Linux, or distributed systems — you can read a k8s deployment guide without help • Instruqt (Linux-based sandbox environments) or comparable lab platform experience • Clear, practitioner-level technical writing and content creation experience • AI workflows in documentation and certification creation and management Strong plus • Experience with Security and Zero Trust frameworks, SSO/LDAP/RBAC, or FIPS compliance • Prior work in high-compliance or defense-adjacent contexts — federal, IC, or regulated industry • WorkRamp or LMS administration experience • Docs-as-code workflow (Git, Markdown, static site generators) and other workflow automation platforms (n8n, Zapier) In your proposal, include • One example of a technical certification or lab track you've built — link or description • Your experience level with enterprise-grade deployment architecture • Whether you have any background with high-compliance or defense-adjacent environments • How you typically approach ramping up on a new technical platform when building curriculum for it • Your available hours per month and start date ir-gapped networks.
