Technical Lead at Linear Health (Remote, Full-Time Contract)
Worldwide
Technical Lead, Linear Health (Remote, Full-Time) Linear Health is an AI-native healthcare operations platform. We automate outbound patient workflows (referrals, care-gap closure, prior authorization, and multi-channel outreach across voice AI, SMS, email, and mail) for US clinics and health systems. We operate as an orchestration layer above the EHR, connecting AI agents to EHRs, payer portals, and clearinghouses through a unified integration platform. We are lean, fast, and approaching our next revenue milestone. We are hiring one Technical Lead to own engineering quality, architecture, and delivery across the platform. This is a single accountable role, not an agency engagement. What you will own Architecture and technical direction across all applications. Code quality as the final gate. You set and enforce standards for testing, review, and AI-assisted development, and you keep AI-generated and human code production-grade. Spec-driven development, so engineers build the right thing the first time. Pull request reviews, and raising the bar for a distributed team of full-stack AI engineers. Hands-on building. You still write code, own selected applications, and run technical spikes on hard problems before the team scales them. Browser automation at scale: reliable, self-healing automation against EHRs and payer portals whose interfaces change without warning. Integrations through both browser automation and API, including HL7 and FHIR, plus third-party systems such as clearinghouses and payer portals. Technical delivery and technical line management of the team. The founder owns people management. Partnering with DevOps on stability, security, and performance. Standing up the technical side of new enterprise relationships, then handing off to the team. Our stack Python and FastAPI on the backend. React on the frontend. Browser automation with Playwright and Chromium. Voice and real-time via LiveKit and ElevenLabs, telephony and SMS via Twilio. AWS (EKS, SQS, Secrets Manager, Bedrock), infrastructure as code with Terraform and Helm. LLMs used as first-class building blocks, with heavy use of AI-assisted and spec-driven development. Must have Personally architected and owned production systems end to end, not just contributed to them. Led or mentored engineers and made them measurably better. This role manages the technical line. Strong across Python, FastAPI, and React. Run browser automation at scale in production. Built real integrations, both API and browser-based. Can tell good AI-assisted code from sludge on sight, and has the standards to enforce the difference. Takes ownership of outcomes without being watched. Nice to have (we can teach the rest) US healthcare and EHR experience. The domain is learnable in weeks; the engineering and leadership are not. HL7 or FHIR specifically. Experience with a particular EHR, clearinghouse, or payer portal. Prior work with US companies or customers. Working model Full-time, remote. A fixed daily overlap window of roughly 6 hours for standups, reviews, and collaboration. Outside that window you run your own schedule against delivery. High-ownership startup pace. Production incidents are all-hands. How to apply Individuals only. No agencies, consultancies, or teams. You will personally do this work. Our process is deliberately rigorous: a paid production trial on real work, a live technical defense of your own code, and reference checks. Apply only if that is welcome. In your proposal, in your own words, describe one production system you personally architected and owned, the single hardest technical decision you made on it, and why you made that call. Template or AI-generated proposals will be rejected.
