Technical Project Manager / Engineering Manager (Part-time)

TechRivo is a software consulting company based in Portugal but working with several European Companies. We have Customers in Europe and Australia in projects ranging from Fintech to Education. We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager / Engineering Manager with a strong background in software development and project leadership. This is a part-time, per-project role, where the number of hours will vary depending on the volume of tasks. We are looking to build a long-term collaboration with someone passionate about technology and delivering successful outcomes. **Key Responsibilities** - Project Leadership: Help set up the SDLC for our client, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and adherence to client requirements - System Design & Architecture: Collaborate with the engineering team to discuss, design, and validate system ideas and architectures, critically evaluating potential solutions - Team Management: Lead a small engineering team, mentoring developers, resolving challenges, and fostering a collaborative environment - Code & PR Reviews: Review code pull requests for quality and adherence to best practices - Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the CTO to align project execution with broader organisational strategies and goals **Qualifications:** Technical Expertise: - Solid understanding of software architecture principles - Experience with DevOps concepts (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, containerization, infrastructure as code) - Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and mentor engineering teams, ensuring alignment and quality outcomes Project Management: - Hands-on experience in managing IT projects - Familiarity with agile methodologies, Kanban, or Scrum - frameworks - Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to think critically, assess technical challenges, and propose effective solutions - Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration - AI Experience (Bonus): Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and applications is a plus Work Model & Compensation: - Type: Part-time, per-project basis (hourly billing) Commitment: Variable hours based on project workload, with flexibility to accommodate peak periods - Fully remote project (Madrid location is a plus) *Other/Soft Skills:* - English language proficiency - Spanish language proficiency is a plus - Team Player - Keen on doing video calls and tracking your work - Comfortable doing a Technical Assessment Test ____ What you can expect from this process: 1) Our team will carefully review your application, and if your experience and qualifications match our needs, we'll invite you for an initial call 2) Technical Assignment on TestGorilla 3) Call with CTO 4) Final call
