Technical SEO & GEO Specialist — Schema.org, AI Search Visibility, WordPress

We run technical SEO and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO/AEO) projects and are building a small team for ongoing, hourly work. The focus is making websites visible and citable in AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity) and in classic search, through clean technical implementation and structured data — not link spam or generic content. This is hands-on execution work. Strategy and all client-facing content stay in-house. You deliver precise technical implementation, audits, and structured data against clear briefs. Core responsibilities: Technical SEO audits: crawlability, indexation, status codes and redirect chains, self-referencing canonicals, www/https consistency, Core Web Vitals, mobile rendering, security headers. Structured data in JSON-LD (schema.org): Person, ProfilePage, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, NewsArticle, including @id entity linking via sameAs and knowsAbout. Every value must match visible, sourced on-page content and validate error-free in the Schema Markup Validator. GEO/AEO setup: robots.txt directives for AI search and user agents (e.g. OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, Claude-SearchBot, Google-Extended), llms.txt creation, and content structured for citation (question-format headings, concise direct answer blocks). Indexing: Bing Webmaster Tools (priority, since ChatGPT retrieves via Bing) and Google Search Console, including sitemap submission and verification. WordPress implementation via Yoast, Rank Math, or SEOPress, or header code injection through a child theme or code-snippet plugin, without breaking existing schema graphs. Off-page (separate track, some projects only): editorial, white-hat link building on real sites with real traffic. No PBNs, link farms, directories, or mass placements. Must-have: Demonstrable technical SEO experience with Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or Semrush, Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, and PageSpeed Insights/Lighthouse. Real hands-on JSON-LD schema implementation, not just plugin toggles. A clear understanding of how AI answer engines retrieve and cite sources, and how that differs from ranking in Google. Clear written English and structured reporting. Nice to have: German language ability (some projects are German-language; copy stays in-house, but it helps). Depth in WordPress and Yoast. Engagement: ongoing, hourly, flexible hours. Every collaboration starts with a small paid test task before we scale up.
