Technical SEO Lead – B2B Electronic Components Platform About the Role We are building a large-scale B2B electronic components platform similar to DigiKey and Mouser, covering millions of SKUs across semiconductors, passive components, connectors, memory, MCUs, FPGAs, analog ICs, power devices and related product categories. We are looking for an experienced Technical SEO Lead to build and manage the SEO architecture for a large-scale, data-driven product catalog website. This role is focused on technical SEO, programmatic SEO, crawlability, indexation, site architecture, structured data, performance, internal linking and search visibility at scale. This is not a basic content SEO or link-building-only role. The ideal candidate should have experience with large ecommerce websites, marketplace platforms, industrial product catalogs, B2B platforms, programmatic SEO, faceted navigation and millions of indexable URLs. Key Responsibilities 1. Technical SEO Architecture Design the SEO architecture for a large-scale B2B electronic components marketplace. Define SEO-friendly URL structures for product pages, category pages, manufacturer pages, series pages, datasheet pages and parameter-based landing pages. Manage crawlability, indexability, canonical rules, robots.txt, meta robots, pagination, redirects, 404/410 handling and URL normalization. Define rules for which pages should be indexable, noindex, canonicalized or excluded from sitemap. Work with engineering teams to ensure SEO requirements are properly implemented in the platform architecture. 2. Large-Scale Indexation Strategy Build SEO strategies for millions of product pages and category pages. Define sitemap index structures, sitemap generation rules, update frequency and lastmod logic. Monitor indexation rate, crawl frequency, discovered URLs, crawled URLs, indexed URLs and excluded URLs. Identify and resolve issues related to duplicate content, thin content, crawl traps, URL parameter problems and low-value pages. Design rules to prioritize high-value product pages for crawling and indexing. 3. Programmatic SEO Develop scalable SEO templates for product pages, category pages, manufacturer pages, series pages and long-tail landing pages. Define title tag, meta description, H1, H2, breadcrumb, internal link and content generation rules based on product data. Work with product data teams to turn structured product information into useful, unique and scalable SEO content. Ensure programmatically generated pages provide real user value and are not simply duplicated or low-quality pages. Define SEO publishing rules or low-quality pages. Define SEO publishing rules based on product data completeness, inventory, datasheet availability, lifecycle status and category quality. 4. Faceted Navigation and Parameter SEO Define SEO rules for parametric filtering pages such as brand, voltage, package, temperature, capacity, tolerance, lifecycle, availability and compliance. Prevent crawl traps caused by unlimited filter combinations. Define which filter combinations can become SEO landing pages and which should remain user-only filters. Manage canonical, noindex, internal linking and sitemap rules for faceted navigation pages. Work with search and product teams to balance user experience, search engine crawlability and index quality. 5. Structured Data and Ecommerce SEO Implement and validate structured data for Product, Offer, AggregateOffer, BreadcrumbList, Organization and other relevant schema types. Ensure product pages include clean, structured information such as manufacturer, MPN, category, technical attributes, availability, price, datasheet, lifecycle status and compliance data. Work with front-end and backend engineers to ensure structured data is accurate, scalable and aligned with product data. 6. JavaScript SEO and Front-End Collaboration Work closely with front-end engineers using Next.js, React and TypeScript to ensure SEO-friendly rendering. Ensure important page content, links, metadata and structured data are available to search engines. Review SSR, SSG, ISR, caching, hydration, internal links and page performance from an SEO perspective. Identify rendering issues that may affect crawling, indexing or ranking. 7. Performance and Core Web Vitals Work with engineering teams to improve page speed, Core Web Vitals, crawl efficiency and user experience. Monitor LCP, INP, CLS, server response time, JavaScript weight, image optimization, caching and CDN behavior. Prioritize SEO performance improvements for high-traffic and high-value page types. 8. SEO Data, Analytics and Reporting Use Google Search Console, GA4, server logs, SQL, Python and SEO tools to analyze organic search performance. Build dashboards to track impressions, clicks, CTR, rankings, indexed pages, crawl stats, zero-click pages and SEO health. Analyze server logs to understand Googlebot behavior and crawl budget usage. Identify high-potential keywords, underperforming pages, indexing gaps and technical SEO issues. Work with data engineers to integrate SEO data into BI or data warehouse systems. 9. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with product managers to define SEO requirements for product pages, category pages, search pages and customer-facing workflows. Work with UI/UX designers to ensure SEO-friendly information architecture and internal linking. Work with data engineers and PIM teams to improve product data quality for SEO. Work with search engineers to align site search, product taxonomy and SEO landing pages. Work with content and category experts to improve page quality, technical descriptions and product discoverability. Required Qualifications 5+ years of SEO experience, with strong focus on technical SEO. Experience managing SEO for large ecommerce, marketplace, B2B, SaaS, industrial, database-driven or product catalog websites. Strong understanding of crawlability, indexation, canonicalization, robots.txt, sitemap, redirects, structured data and internal linking. Experience with websites containing hundreds of thousands or millions of URLs. Strong experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Ahrefs, Semrush or similar SEO tools. Ability to analyze server logs and understand search engine crawler behavior. Strong understanding of JavaScript SEO, especially for React / Next.js websites. Experience working with engineering teams and translating SEO requirements into technical specifications. Strong analytical skills with SQL and spreadsheet-based analysis. Ability to define SEO rules for product data, category pages, filters, landing pages and large-scale programmatic SEO. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with B2B marketplaces, industrial ecommerce, electronic components, automotive parts, medical devices, engineering products or complex product catalogs. Familiarity with platforms such as DigiKey, Mouser, Arrow, Avnet, RS, Farnell / element14, TTI or similar industrial/electronic component platforms. Experience with programmatic SEO for large product catalogs. Experience with faceted navigation SEO and parameter URL control. Experience with Product schema, Offer schema and ecommerce structured data. Experience with Next.js, React, TypeScript, SSR, SSG or ISR from an SEO perspective. Experience using Python for SEO automation or data analysis. Experience with BigQuery, ClickHouse, Snowflake or other data warehouse systems is a plus. Understanding of PIM, product taxonomy, product attributes, MPN, SKU, inventory and pricing data is a strong plus. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate has worked on large-scale websites where SEO success depends on technical architecture, product data, crawl budget, indexation strategy and scalable content generation. You should understand that a B2B electronic components platform is not a normal content website. Search engines need to discover, crawl, understand and index millions of technical product pages. Users search by exact MPN, manufacturer, package, technical parameters, lifecycle status, datasheet, inventory and price. SEO must be built into the product data model, URL structure, internal linking system, rendering architecture and page quality rules. You should be comfortable working with product managers, engineers, data teams, designers, content teams and business stakeholders. Key Page Types This Role Will Work On Product detail pages Manufacturer pages Product category pages Product family and series pages Parametric filter landing pages Search result pages Datasheet pages Alternative parts pages Comparison pages Blog / technical content pages Customer support and account-related pages where relevant Example SEO Challenges How should millions of MPN product pages be structured and indexed?
