Technical SEO Specialist (WordPress & Performance Optimization)

Project Overview We are looking for an experienced Freelance Technical SEO Specialist to audit, diagnose, and resolve technical issues affecting our website’s SEO performance, crawlability, indexation, and system stability. The primary goal is to significantly improve: · Technical SEO health · Google Search Console performance · Website speed and Core Web Vitals · Overall system stability and maintainability This is a project-based role with a strong focus on hands-on implementation, not just recommendations. Website Context Platform: WordPress Website type: E-commerce Approximate number of URLs: 10000 on Google Search Console (many from parameter) Current performance/tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Semrush, PageSpeed Insights / Gtmetrix. Hosting/CDN setup: Hostinger. Scope of Work 1. Technical SEO & Website Audit Conduct a full technical audit covering: · Crawlability & indexation. · Website structure and internal linking. · Google Search Console data. · Core Web Vitals and performance bottlenecks. Identify and categorize issues by: · Severity (Critical / High / Medium / Low). · SEO impact. · Effort to fix. Deliver a prioritized action plan with clear implementation steps. 2. Technical SEO Optimization (Hands-on Fixes) Identify and resolve key technical SEO issues, including but not limited to: · Redirect chains and loops · Incorrect canonical implementation · Duplicate content issues · Indexing / noindex misconfigurations · Crawl errors and coverage issues · XML sitemap and robots.txt optimization · Structured data (basic schema implementation) · Internal linking improvements · Broken links, soft 404s, and error handling Additional responsibilities: · Audit and optimize Google Search Console setup · Ensure all priority URLs are crawlable and indexable · Remove unintended technical blockers affecting indexation 3. Website Performance & Stability Optimization Identify and fix performance bottlenecks such as: · Slow load times · High server response times · Resource-heavy scripts/plugins Optimize WordPress configuration for performance. Improve Core Web Vitals on key templates/pages. Diagnose and resolve server/resource-related issues (where applicable). The objective is to improve page load speed, responsiveness, and overall system stability. 4. Plugin & System Architecture Review Audit existing WordPress setup: · Identify unnecessary or redundant plugins · Detect plugin conflicts and performance issues · Evaluate theme and custom code for technical risks Recommendations and implement improvements should prioritize stability, simplicity, and long-term maintainability. Deliverables At the end of the project, the freelancer should provide: · A concise technical audit report · A prioritized list of issues identified and fixed · A list of remaining issues with recommendations and impact assessment · Documentation of which changes made (SEO, performance, system) and updated configurations (plugins, settings, etc.) · A technical maintenance checklist for internal use Success Metrics We need to achieve the following results: · Critical technical SEO issues are fully resolved. · At least 95% of high-priority issues are fixed. · At least 85% of issues are fixed. · Semrush Site Health score reaches 90%+ (excluding accepted exceptions) · Core Web Vitals improve on key templates/pages · PageSpeed score reaches 85 - 90 for priority pages (where technically feasible) · All agreed priority URLs are crawlable and indexable · Website stability and server performance show measurable improvement · Leave behind a significantly more stable system after the project. Requirements The ideal candidate must have: · Proven experience in Technical SEO (hands-on implementation) and WordPress performance optimization. · Deep understanding of: o Crawlability, indexation, canonicalization o XML sitemaps, robots.txt, redirects o Core Web Vitals and PageSpeed optimization · Experience with tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Semrush, PageSpeed Insights / Gtmetrix. · Ability to diagnose technical issues independently. · Experience in implementing fixes directly (not just recommend). Candidates with the following qualifications will be given priority: · Experience with CDN (Cloudflare), caching systems, server-level optimization. · Basic knowledge of HTML / CSS / JavaScript / PHP. · Experience working on medium to large-scale WordPress sites. Working Setup Project duration: 1 - 2 weeks Reporting: weekly updates, async reports. Communication: Email / zalo / whatsapp / meetings if needed.
