Technical Sourcer for VC-Backed Tech Startups / Software Engineer Roles (LinkedIn, GitHub & Beyond)

Trailblazing Talent is a boutique tech recruiting firm placing software engineers at high-growth VC backed tech startups. We're looking for an experienced technical sourcer to join our candidate pipeline efforts across multiple live searches. **Please read the requirements carefully and only apply if you can meet most of them. We will be very diligent in our search and will only entertain the most qualified applicants.** About the Role: We provide very specific role requirements, target companies/schools/backgrounds, and search instructions for each search, and you'll be expected to follow them closely while using judgment on candidate quality. We'll give you the specifics for each open role (tech stack, must-haves, target companies to source from, seniority, comp bands, etc.). You bring the sourcing skill and candidate instincts to execute against them. This role is primarily sourcing-focused, with pipeline management handled by our team. High-performing sourcers who meet criteria we'll set may also be given initial candidate outreach responsibilities on certain searches. Roles We're Actively Sourcing For: Full Stack Engineers, AI/LLM Engineers, Product Engineers, Frontend Engineers, Backend Engineers. Primarily for venture-backed startups headquartered in NYC and SF (some may be remote-friendly, but with a strong preference for candidates based in or near these hubs). Roles may be onsite, hybrid, or remote. What You'll Do: Source and screen candidates against detailed, role-specific criteria we provide For high-performing sourcers who meet criteria we'll define, conduct initial candidate outreach on select searches Build and manage Boolean/X-ray search strings across LinkedIn, GitHub, and other channels Compile candidate lists/profiles for our team to review and take over from there Must-Haves: -Proven experience sourcing for tech startups, not just large enterprise or agency-generalist recruiting -Strong hands-on experience sourcing for Full Stack, AI/LLM, Frontend, and/or Backend Engineering roles specifically. -Comfort working with very detailed, specific instructions and staying within scope. This is a highly structured process, not open-ended sourcing. -Strong LinkedIn Recruiter sourcing skills (Boolean search, X-ray search). -Ability to move quickly and communicate proactively on progress/blockers. -Experience recruiting for early-stage/seed-to-Series C startups. -Technical enough to evaluate GitHub profiles and understand tech stacks etc. How We Work Together: We run a structured, high-touch process. You'll get detailed instructions for each search and we expect you to work closely within that scope while using good judgment on candidate quality. We communicate primarily via Upwork, with regular check-ins on progress and blockers. We value proactive updates over waiting to be asked. If a search isn't producing results or criteria need adjusting, we want to hear that early on. This could turn into a full-time position. Thank you for your interest.
