Technical migration assessment for a React-based 2D puzzle game
Worldwide
Technical Assessment: Porting a React Puzzle Game to Godot, Unity, or Unreal I am looking for an experienced game developer to provide a short, preliminary technical assessment of porting an existing React-based puzzle game to a native game engine. The game, SenseSpace, is a 2D semantic puzzle game built around interactive word-and-relationship graphs and a navigable constellation map. You will receive access to a playable web build: This is a small, fixed-scope consultation rather than a development contract. Scope Please spend approximately 3-4 hours reviewing the playable build and provide a concise written assessment covering: * Which engine appears best suited to the project: Godot, Unity, or Unreal * Which parts of the current React implementation would likely need to be rebuilt * Which systems, data, or logic may be reusable * The main technical risks or unknowns * A rough low / likely / high estimate of the effort required to recreate the current prototype in the recommended engine * Any important implications for Steam release, controller support, save systems, animation, visual effects, and possible web deployment This is not a request for a binding production quote. I am looking for a realistic directional assessment that will help me decide which engine to investigate further. Current project characteristics The game currently includes: * 2D drag-and-drop graph puzzles * Directed nodes and relationship edges * A large navigable constellation map * Puzzle progression and unlock states * Tool and reward systems * Save-state requirements * UI transitions, visual effects, and planned animated backgrounds * Steam as the primary commercial platform * Web deployment as a desirable secondary option Ideal background You should have: * Strong professional experience with at least one of Godot, Unity, or Unreal * Familiarity with 2D game architecture and UI-heavy games * Experience estimating migrations, rewrites, or prototype redevelopment * Ideally, experience with React, TypeScript, or web-based games * The ability to distinguish between reusable game logic and engine-specific implementation Please briefly state: * Which engines you have shipped projects with * Whether you have experience migrating web prototypes into game engines * Which engine you initially suspect may suit this project, and why Budget Fixed price: $100 Expected effort: approximately 3-4 hours Deliverable: a concise written technical assessment.
