Technical writer to make our docs world-class (ongoing, AI-savvy)
Worldwide
We're Willow. We're building the identity and access layer for AI agents in the enterprise — think Okta, but for AI agents instead of people. Our customers are CISOs and engineering teams at companies like Wix, Riskified, and Isracard. Our product is good. Our docs need to match it. We want them to feel like the best developer docs you've ever read — Shopify, Stripe, Vercel level. Clear, human, genuinely useful, and a pleasure to move through. Here's the honest part: we use AI to draft a lot of our docs. That gets us most of the way. What it doesn't do is verify that every step is actually correct, cut the robotic tone, or add the screenshots and short clips that make a page click. That's the job. You'll own our docs as a craft. Take AI-drafted and existing content, pressure-test every claim against the real product, rewrite it so it sounds like a sharp human wrote it, and add the visuals that make it land. This is an ongoing role — we want one person who learns our product deeply and becomes the owner of the docs over time, not a one-off project. You can see what we have today at docs.withwillow.ai. It's a solid starting point. We want it to be exceptional. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Turn AI-drafted and rough content into clear, accurate, genuinely helpful docs - Verify every instruction against the live product — if a step is wrong, you catch it - Write in a human, direct voice. No filler, no marketing fluff, no AI tells - Add screenshots, annotated images, and short screen recordings where they help - Keep structure, navigation, and information architecture clean as the docs grow - Work closely with our engineering and product team to get details right WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 3+ years writing technical or developer documentation for software products - A portfolio you're proud of — link us to docs you've written that you'd point to as your best work - A real eye for tone. You can tell when writing sounds like a machine and you know how to fix it - Comfortable with developer concepts: APIs, SSO, CLIs. MCP / AI agents a big plus - You make your own screenshots and screen recordings — you don't wait for someone to hand them to you - Markdown fluent; Docusaurus experience is a plus - Self-directed. You'll get context and access, then we trust you to run NICE TO HAVE - Background in security, dev tools, or infrastructure products - Experience documenting AI / LLM / agent products - Light video editing (Loom, ScreenStudio, or similar) TO APPLY Skip the generic cover letter. In a few sentences, tell us: 1. Link to the best docs you've written, and one sentence on why you're proud of it 2. One page of public documentation you think is excellent, and one that's bad — and why, in a line each 3. Confirm you're up for a short paid test task (about $125, ~2 hours) before we move forward We read every application that answers these. We move fast and want to start this week.
