QA Tester (Manual) — Mobile + Web Booking Marketplace | Project + Per-Release
Worldwide
We're building AURA, a mobile-first booking marketplace for local services (salons, spas, barbers, fitness, and more) — think "Fresha meets Wolt" for our market. The product has three parts: a React Native mobile app (iOS + Android), a Next.js web app, and a backend with a booking engine and payments. We're looking for an experienced manual QA tester to independently verify the app across web and mobile as it's built, milestone by milestone, through to launch — and then on a per-release basis afterward. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Test new features at the end of each development milestone against a detailed QA specification we provide (clear expected-behaviour checklists). - Run end-to-end testing on real iOS and Android devices and on major browsers. - Log bugs clearly: steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual result, device/browser, screenshots or recordings, and severity. - Re-test fixes and confirm they're resolved. - Focus especially on the high-risk areas: booking correctness (no double-bookings, accurate availability) and payments (deposits, refunds, cancellations) — these are the most important part of the job. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 3+ years of hands-on manual QA experience, ideally including apps that handle bookings, scheduling, or payments. - Strong attention to detail and clear, well-structured bug reports. - Comfortable testing on real mobile devices (iOS + Android) and web. - Able to think like a user AND try to break things (edge cases, race conditions, error states). - Good written English for reporting. - A plus: experience testing marketplaces, e-commerce, or fintech; familiarity with tools like Jira/Trello/Notion for bug tracking; basic API testing (Postman). HOW WE WORK - The main engagement runs alongside development (roughly 3–4 months to launch), in test cycles tied to development milestones — one testing pass plus re-testing of fixes per cycle, and a full end-to-end pass before launch. - After launch we'll need you again on a per-release basis — a test cycle whenever we ship a new feature or update (we have a roadmap of future releases). This isn't continuous monthly work; it's project-based now and as-needed later, so there's real repeat opportunity without a fixed retainer. - We'll provide a full QA test specification so you know exactly what to check. TO APPLY, PLEASE INCLUDE 1. A short note on your relevant QA experience — especially any booking, scheduling, or payment apps. 2. Your rate, and whether you prefer to work hourly or fixed-price per test cycle. 3. Which devices you can test on (iOS + Android models, browsers). 4. An example of how you write a bug report (a sample or a brief description of your format). 5. To confirm you read this: start your reply with the word "AURA". We value thoroughness over speed and clear communication above all. Looking forward to working with the right person.
