QA Tester (Part-Time) — Home Care Management Platform
Worldwide
QA Tester (Part-Time) — Home Care Management Platform Project type: Long-term, ongoing Engagement: Contract, part-time Hours: 10–15 hrs/week Start date: Within 2–4 weeks Location: Remote (US time zone overlap preferred) About the Project We're building Anaya Care, a mobile-first home care management platform serving care organizations, caregivers, and families. The platform is live in production with an anchor subscriber actively using it for real-world testing. We're adding a part-time QA Tester to our contractor team to ensure every feature meets acceptance criteria before reaching our subscriber. A Note on the Codebase Anaya Care has been in active development for over a year. Phase 1 is live in the App Store with our anchor subscriber actively testing. We're now transitioning from our original development team to a new contractor team. For QA work, this means: • You'll be testing a live product, not a greenfield build • Some undiscovered bugs from earlier development may exist; finding them is part of the value you bring • The Developer Build & Acceptance Checklist gives you a clear starting point, but testing will also surface things not yet documented • You'll be working closely with developers who are themselves learning the codebase If you enjoy bringing testing discipline to a live product and helping a team raise its quality bar, this project will fit you well. What the Role Involves Test new features and bug fixes against a defined acceptance criteria checklist. Report bugs in a structured format. Help maintain release quality as the platform evolves. Specific responsibilities: • Test every new feature against the platform's acceptance criteria checklist (we have one already) • Test on multiple mobile devices (iOS and Android — at minimum iPhone and one Android device, recent OS versions) • Test web admin interfaces across browsers • Run regression testing after bug fixes • Document bugs with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, device info, and severity • Coordinate with the Tech Lead and developers on prioritization • Build basic test plans for new features as they're scoped Required Skills • 3+ years QA testing experience, especially for mobile apps • Strong attention to detail — you find edge cases others miss • Structured bug reporting — clear, reproducible, well-documented • Mobile testing experience — iOS and Android, multiple device types • Web testing experience — modern browsers, responsive layouts • Comfortable working from acceptance criteria checklists • Strong written English communication Preferred Skills • Healthcare or compliance app testing experience • Experience testing multi-tenant SaaS applications with role-based access (test cases vary by user role) • Experience with bug tracking tools (Jira, Linear, Asana, or similar) • Experience with test plan creation based on PRD or feature specs • Familiarity with EVV or care management apps • Automated testing background — not required for Phase 1 but useful for future scaling What You Won't Be Doing • This is not a developer role. You don't write production code. • This is not a manual-only role forever. We may add automated testing later. • This is not a full-time role. It's part-time, 10–15 hrs/week. What's Already in Place • Developer Build & Acceptance Checklist — your work starts from this document. Each acceptance criterion becomes a test case. • PRD version 4.2 — the authoritative source for what features should do • Tech Lead and Full-Stack Developer being hired alongside you • UI/UX designer in place • Product Owner (founder) accessible for clarifying questions How We Work • Weekly syncs (30 min) with the team • Daily bug triage asynchronously via [tool] • Release cycles every 2–3 weeks — you test the release candidate • Founder accessible for product questions What to Include in Your Application 1. Brief introduction — what kinds of products you've tested and what made you good at it 2. Mobile testing examples — 2–3 apps you've tested, including how you approached test coverage 3. A sample bug report you've written (paste in your application — we want to see your structure and clarity) 4. Your typical availability — hours per week, time zone 5. Your hourly rate Please skip: • Generic cover letters • Claims of "100% test coverage" or "zero bugs missed" (we know this isn't real) • Boilerplate applications Selection Process 1. Application review (1 week) 2. Short async screening (we send you a small sample app and ask for a test plan + bug report) 3. 30-minute video conversation with the founder 4. Paid trial task — test one real feature against acceptance criteria 5. Offer Compensation Hourly contract at market rates for experienced mobile QA testers. Long-term ongoing engagement.
