QA Tester- consumer web app (half day/week)

Part-time QA tester - consumer web app (half day / week, remote) ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a professional QA tester for a consumer web product (AI coaching / wellbeing, chat-based daily and weekly loops). This is a standing part-time engagement, not a one-off gig. Every week after we ship a new version, you run a full end-to-end pass as a real user (recorded on Loom), plus regression checks on what changed that week. You file a proper written report within 24 hours with clear issues and steps to reproduce. We triage that report and raise tickets on our side - you do not need Jira access. COMMITMENT - Roughly 4 hours per week (half a day), on a fixed day after each release (currently Thursday) - Fully remote, any timezone - the only hard requirement is finishing the session, Loom, and written report within 24 hours of release day - Ongoing weekly work while the product is in active build (expect this to run for several months at least) WHAT YOU WILL DO EACH WEEK 1. Receive a short brief: release build link, environment, what changed, and any high-risk areas to focus on 2. Create a fresh account (unless we say otherwise) and run the full core product loop end to end as a real user 3. Record the entire session on Loom (screen + voice) - this is mandatory every week, not optional 4. Follow the persona / behaviour notes in the brief (including messy paths - skipped steps, empty submits, unfinished goals - not only the happy path) 5. Check the areas that changed that week for regressions 6. Send a full written report within 24 hours, listing every issue with steps, expected vs actual, screenshots or clips, and your sense of severity REPORT STANDARD (NON-NEGOTIABLE) - The report must be written by you. AI tools may help you draft or organise notes. A ChatGPT (or similar) dump that was not lived through the session will be rejected and the engagement ended. - Quality rating in words only: strong / moderate / weak / insufficient, with reasoning. No fake numeric scores (9/10, 91/100). - Must include: date, build / environment, areas tested, time spent, Loom link, issues found (with repro detail), retests, overall rating + short reason. - You do not raise Jira tickets - we triage your report and Loom and create tickets from there. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR - Professional QA / manual tester with strong reviews on the platform you work from - Demonstrable experience testing consumer-facing apps or websites (not only enterprise / internal tools) - Precise, thorough, and clear in writing - the Loom + report are half the job - Comfortable exploring a product without a 50-page test script - we give a structured brief, you use judgement - Able to spot UX confusion and broken flows, not only hard crashes - Able to describe bugs clearly enough that we can turn them into tickets without a follow-up call NICE TO HAVE (NOT REQUIRED) - Experience testing chat / conversational / AI products - Mobile browser testing (iOS Safari and Android Chrome) THIS IS NOT - An automation role (we are not hiring for Playwright / Selenium scripts here) - A full-time job or a product management role - A quick smoke test with an AI-generated write-up - A request to rewrite our product strategy - we want clear findings, not redesign proposals HOW TO APPLY Please send: - A short note on consumer apps you have tested - 1-2 example bug reports you are proud of (anonymised is fine) - A link to one example Loom or screen recording of you testing something (if you have it) - Your weekly availability on Thursdays (or within 24h of a midweek release)
